Rated 4 out of 5 by BlueWhale Great - but Needs One Change...
These coats are great except for the pockets. I ordered one of these coats and the pockets were not sewn evenly. One pocket was positioned higher than the other and the slant was different on the two pockets. Even in the picture on the LL Bean website the pockets don't look quite even. I have two of these coats from several years back and the pockets were sewn straight across - no slant. - and they look great. If the pockets cannot be sewn evenly please go back to straight pockets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by doglover2929 What I've been looking for :)
I have returned 5 coats and tried on another 20 or so and I'd almost given up until I received this in the mail. I wanted something comfortable, warm, and didn't make me look awful. I wore this today in 15 degree weather with a 3/4 sleeve shirt and I was comfy. I really like the pockets, I'm not afraid anything will fall out. I usually buy a 1X in coats but the XL fits well. What would make this PERFECT is if it was wind resistant like one of the other fleeces that I don't want because I don't like the "sporty" look. I may have to order the longer version with a hood?.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LLBeanNicki The best!
My husband got this jacket for me this Christmas. I'm a size 8 and got this in a med. I got the purple color. Much prettier in person, not harsh purple. I did not get the petit, because I wanted to turn the cuffs back on the sleeves and it works. The length is perfect, just long enough to cover your back but not too long. Warm warm warm! And so very soft too. Nothing bad to say at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LLBeanNicki So far so good!
Just revived this jacket today and I love it. I'm a med/8 and the med is perfect. I wanted to turn the cuffs up so I did not get the petit size, just regular. I got the plum color and it is even prettier in person. The jacket is soft and thick all at the same time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by PchyKeenGA Love it, seems to run small
I purchased for myself in a medium and when it arrived immediately put it on. Wore it for a short time and it seemed a bit small. My son purchased from me for his wife, she's slimmer, and she loves it! I liked it so much I ordered a large. I thought it had a flattering fit, I'm 5'8" and my daughter in law is 5'7". I will comment further when I receive the one I ordered for myself. Here in GA it's nice and cozy to have on for those chilly mornings and evenings.

Rated 4 out of 5 by turboprofesora Kingfield Fleece Coat
This jacket is warm, comfy and classy. I love wearing it. My only complaint is the horrible lint it attracts. I dry it in the dryer just to get rid of it, but in between washes I have to use massive amounts of packaging tape to get the lint off. I have to this every time I wear it. This is the only drawback of this nice jacket.

Rated 1 out of 5 by happyascanbe Not the same jacket
I ordered a Kingfield jacket AND coat eight years ago, and they look exactly the same after eight years of heavy wash and wear. I've gotten smaller with age, so I recently ordered a Kingfield jacket in XS. I was shocked by the difference in quality. The old product had a suede-like exterior that still gets compliments today, and a deep, plush sherpa lining. Even the pockets had a sherpa lining. The current jacket is just a thick fleece sewn into the style of a jacket. It's about 25% of the quality of my old jacket, and barely worth the sale price. I will keep it to wear around the house (I turn down the thermostat when kids are at school) or when I do yard work, because it's very warm as fleece jackets go.

I got this coat in the Dark Plum Heather. I am 5'4", 156 lbs and ordered a Large. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this coat since not all the reviews were 5 star. It's not "fleecy" at all but is a smooth dense fabric which could pass for wool. It could be dressy or casual. The princess line is very flattering on my pear shaped figure. The buttonholes are not ordinary bound slits but the kind you would get from a tailor made from inset suede fabric. I wore it for the first time today with temps in the mid 40's and breezy. It kept me warm. Attractive styling, beautifully made and practical too!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Lee61 Not good for me!
This jacket is very nice and well made, but did not look good on me... It looked too boxy, and I felt like a brown bear in it. So, back it went..

Rated 2 out of 5 by Nausiica WAY too large on the body
Once again I am disappointed by the large sizing of your X-Small tops. I am 5'2" and 110 pounds and I figured X-Small Petite would work for me. Nope ! The sleeve length and the coat length are fine yet there is a 2 inches free space gap on each side of my body.
LLBean, you need to realize what X-Small and Petite mean: It means we are small little things, this item would be large enough for a Size 8 to 10 lady, I am size 2 and it looks awful (even with a sweater inside). Perhaps you could offer an XXS size that would be tighter around the waist and torso.
I gave 2 stars because the fabric looks nice and warm. Although keep in mind this is not a "high end" looking coat, it is barely good looking enough for a weekend helping your mom in her garden. Not for the city or work. But definitely sweet for the one looking for warmth and comfort.
