I rec'd the coat in the mail.
First of all the coat seems well made. Had no issues with the sleeves nor zipper. It seems warm as well.
However, pay attention to the sizing. I am 5'5 / 137lbs. I got the small thinking that this size will give me space to wear bulky sweaters etc. The small gives me space to wear a whole other down jacket in there! No waistband, nothing to make the jacket fit better.
So, I'll try ordering a smaller size if anything...
The small is equivalent to a medium in a similar style @ Northface.
Would recommend in the right size!

Rated 3 out of 5áby Heyred Not as warm as advertised
I bought this coat because it is supposed to be as warm as another brand, but is longer. Several of my friends had bought this coat also. The first couple of years it was OK, because the winter wasn't too bad. Then we got a bad winter and we realized it is not as warm as advertised. Even in the 30's with a couple of layers and only a light wind you feel the coolness through the upper body, especially the shoulders and arms. I wear another company's down vest under it for body warmth, but of course that doesn't help in the arms. My down jacket from the other company doesn't have as warm a rating as this coat, but it is much warmer with less layers. If you want to be sure you are warm, don't order this coat. Or, leave the tags on and try it on a really cold day (below freezing, not much layering) and with the wind blowing.

This coat overall is warm however, the zipper and hood strings are not user friendly. The zipper closure is on the opposite side of any coat I have ever owned and it is very hard to get zipped; and rough zipping once you can get it into the slat and using the 2-way function is almost impossible. The hood has what seems to be a heavy gauge rubberband with no slack to pull it. Once you can find the band to tighten it, it is okay. Even though the coat is warm, it is very stiff. I do love that finally a women's coat has a snorkel type hood and that the neck comes up high. Happy with it in general, but would not buy another.

Rated 5 out of 5áby chairlady What are YOU looking for?
If you want a sweet girlie coat, this one is not for you. If you need a coat that will serve you well in an ever-changing New England winter, look no further. While I do agree with other reviewer's comments about the sleeve length (shorter than most and perfect for me) and the fur trim (tacky), this coat delivers where it counts. If you have ever gotten a down coat wet, you know it becomes worse than useless-not an issue with this one. The pockets are fine, the zipper has not given me any trouble, and the hood can be adjusted to not fall in your eyes. Very glad I purchased this!

I bought this jacket for Chicago winter. I have yet to use it in the "real" cold. But it performs awesome-Iy in the wind. I love that it is waterproof, windproof, and warm. That part is nice. The fleece cuffs are nice. BUT I'm 5'1" so I got an XS Petite. The sleeve length is fine, but the coat is SO long, it makes me wonder what would have happened had I just ordered the XS. I feel like the only thing "petite" about this coat is the sleeve length. It is so huge I could be 6 months pregnant and still wear it. I understand the need for room for layering but this is seriously like enough room for layering another winter coat. There's not even a draw-string at the waist. The fur is hideous so I took it off. The hood is terrible. It's way too tall. So I used the elastic to make it fit around my head and now it's all scrunched up and weird. And don't even get me started about the zipper. I have spent miserable times at bus-stops in the cold wind trying to get the zipper to close and NOPE. It is cheap plastic and does not work. I don't know. This coat is pretty ugly and it might be worth the extra dough to by a properly-fitting Northface.

I can't wait for the really cold weather to try this coat out! I like the look, which is streamlined, and the light blue color is perfect. Unlike other reviewers, I found the sleeve length to be just right, with the fleece cuffs coming over my wrist bones and the down outer layer hitting slightly lower on my hand. However, my arms are slightly short (by maybe a half inch) so that's why I took the risk of ordering this. In addition, the shoulders seem to be slightly narrower than I would ideally like. All in all, I am extremely happy with the purchase and know I will get great use out of it in the New England winters, whether it's for clearing the snow off the walkways or visiting friends.

Rated 3 out of 5áby DrHarrington great coat bad zipper & short sleeves
I loved the warmth of this coat and the quality. But the sleeves were short - I am 5'5' and 115 pounds - but the problem that made me return the coat was the problematic zipper ---- hard to zip and then after 1 wash the zipper broke off.
If the zipper problem was resolved I would buy the coat again!!!

Rated 5 out of 5áby hudsonnative Warm coat, perfect for MA winters
I bought this to wear to work. I wear suits or blazers. Dressier than my winter parka, not as dressy as my wool dress coat - but much more practical and warmer. The coat and hood are warm, warm. I am perpetually cold, this was a welcome purchase. Did I say how nice & toasty this coat is?
The outer layer is water repellent, snow & rain bead off. I like the slippery nylon lining - unlike my LL parka with fabric lining, this coat does not pill my clothes, and is easy to slip on over my work blazer or suit coat. The snaps instead of velcro are easy to quickly close - without zipping, yet keep the coat closed and me warm. I wear size 4-6, but I bought a MED to permit space for layers. Under the coat I wear, LL undershirt, blouse, and suit coat. The coat is less bulky and weighty than my LL Down parka.
On outerwear, LL should go back to snaps instead of velcro, and use nylon liners for ease of layering. I'd buy it again.

Rated 4 out of 5áby ClassicNYer Well made and will keep, but not feminine
I ordered the port/burgundy colour in an XS petite on sale and the colour is nice against by skin tone. However, I find the fit to be too lose over the entire body and sleeves while wearing a thick sweater (and I'm a busty). Other reviews spoke to the sleeves being too short, for me, they barely hit at my wrist and I am petite, so it must be a issue for most. I am 5 feet tall and weigh between 105-107 lbs always. I have been ordering outerwear from LLBean for many years and have seen a bit of enhancement in terms of styling, especially with inner drawstrings at the waist to give a slimming effect. Bear in mind that I am not asking for diva-like outerwear at all. I like the quality and practicality of LLBean's products, but overall, I strongly feel that your XS Petite should be marked as a SMALL Petite because it is cut like a SIZE 4. The only thing that is petite is the length of the sleeves, but the width of the sleeves and overall body is much too loose to be labeled as an XS Petite. It's almost as if it's made for a short plump person. As well, the lower part of this coat is slightly flared out, assuming that everyone has big hips and thighs.... I kept it because I want something to keep me warm for trips to Upstate NY. LLBean needs to make a true XS Petite coat, which should be a SIZE 2.

Very disappointed with the coat. It has not shaping nor a drawstring nor a belt at the waist so you look like you have no shape as a woman and look like a mommy whale walking around.
