I love this coat, it is super warm which is perfect for the snowy climate I live in. I was also very impressed with how quickly my coat arrived. Great shipping LLBean.

Fit is right on. Pockets are warm and soft. Coat is so warm but still breathable so I don't feel claustrophobic in it. Even with all the down in it, it isn't too bulky. Can unzip from the bottom so if you are driving you can allow yourself a little extra movement. Easy to dress up or down. I love this coat and have used it already for this Nov 2014 Arctic storm that blew through Colorado. Would definitely recommend to a friend1

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jaime24 Tested in -20 degree temps, this coat really works
This is seriously the BEST and WARMEST coat I have ever purchased. I live in Chicago, and people often ask me how I deal with the weather, and I always say you just need the right clothes and a passion for winter sports! I walk 3 miles to and from work every day and last winter was probably the worst that I can remember in a long time and there wasn't a day I couldn't comfortably walk in sub zero temps with this coat, I even walked in air temps of -22 and was fine! Of course you need layers still: warm boots, snow pants in sub zero temps since the length isn't down to your ankles, head band along with the hood that comes with the coat, additional scarf, gloves, etc. (gloves and hands in the coat pocket make it nice and toasty#. I've pulled out this coat already for the season - I walked to work today with it #it's 12 degrees out in Nov!#, and I was seriously sweating by the time I got the office. I always recommend this coat to anyone who asked how I live here. It does run a bit big, I originally purchased a medium, but returned for a small #I'm 5'7" and 145 pounds#. It may not be the best looking coat as it is a bit bulky, but function over fashion is key in the winter in the Midwest. And it's really easy to wash too #I have the cream, so it tends to get a bit dirty, but it's really FANTASTIC!! Can't say it enough.

I have had this coat in my possession for 5 days...5 days of trying it on and trying to figure out how LL Bean got the zipper SO wrong!! The zipper simply does not work and one cannot zipper it easily, if at all. I keep thinking that it is me and I just have to figure out the "trick" for easy closure. I simply cannot, nor could 2 of my friends who also tried it on. So frustrating as everything else about this coat is exactly what I wanted. ugh. Sadly, sending it back and will continue my search.......

Last winter was ridiculous, so I purchased this coat to battle yet another arctic frosty, windy Chicago winter. This coat has everything I need including lots of pockets, a wind and waterproof fabric, lots of down to keep me warm, and a length that covers my entire body to my knees, without being cumbersome. The two-way zipper is a great feature that gives me "wiggle room" when walking up stairs or sitting in the car. If you live in a climate like mine, this coat is a must-have. Don't miss it!

I just got my brown coat and am immediately returning it. It's a great weight, but so plain and boxy, with road kill fur on the hood that is amazingly ugly (it can be unzipped thankfully and you're still left with a hood). It's well made for sure, but I can't fathom who designed it. The sleeves at the wrist are velcro adjustable! Before ordering it I looked at reviewer comments saying it was cut small - it isn't - so I ordered a large when a medium could have worked (am 5'4, 135 lbs). I wanted an well insulated coat that wasn't too heavy (it's got a great weight) and one that came to the knee (it does). Too bad it has no style.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Malamute Very toasty and flattering too
I wanted a really warm coat to wear on those icy and snowy mornings and nights here in Colorado when I take my dog out for walks as I hate to be cold, so would rather 'overdo' the warmth factor. This coat is great - the length is just above the knee - I'm 5ft7, so keeps the thigh area warm, and I find it easy to get on and off - no issues with the zippers etc. The front pockets are large and easy to access - even with gloves. The faux fur on the hood is a little sparse, but you can easily zip off the fur, and even the entire hood if you like. This is going to be my 'go to' jacket for all those walks this winter and beyond.

by Janelle Horrible Zipper, Beautiful Coat
Sadly, I am sending the Acadia back within five minutes of opening the package. The other reviewers were not kidding. The Acadia is a beautiful, well-made coat, but the zipper is awful. I had to try five times to get it zipped and multiple tries to get it off. Sadness because this coat is beautiful!
I'm 5'4", 140 pounds, and I paid $299 for a Regular Small.
I know I can count on LL Bean for a hassle-free return and great customer service. I am going to pick another coat from LL Bean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by beanwear59 Function over fashion?
I hate to be cold so have been on the lookout for a really, really warm coat. In fact, I read a review about the top rated warm coats and LLBean was #2. The #1 rated cost about $800, so that didn't work for me. Over the last few years I tried a bunch of LLBean coats and they always looked kind of dorky and seemed to have a cone shape where it fit my shoulders and then seemed to flare out. Might've been good for someone pregnant, but not me. This one is not like that. I haven't worn it in temperatures below 35, but I like the style and it really is toasty warm. The faux fur is sort of misshapen so I probably will leave that off.
