i really wanted this to work, as my office is freezing and i was hoping this would be the answer. but, alas, even the petite was to large to be able to comfortable layer over. and on top of that, this silk shirt was see thru and felt really flimsy. so back it went.
over all - i felt this was not up to llbeans usually high standards.

I bought a small because it runs large. Fits fine. Keeps me warm. I prefer long sleeves to 3/4 length.

I love this! Why didn't I order "silk" sooner?

The fit is great -- I ordered a Medium and it works well with my plus-size chest. Given other reviews, I was worried that the deep scoop neckline would compromise the garment's thermal underwear functions, but not at all; I was toasty warm. My previous long sleeve scoop neck was crème colored and after a few wears it became dingy looking and developed a few runs and holes. I am hopeful that my new black scoop neck will wear better. I like the fact that it has no bulk, feels nice against the skin and is perfect to wear underneath a close fitting turtleneck. I've detected a paper-like tag along the inside side seam. I'd like to remove it but it looks like it would tear the seam if I did so. Request for improvement: please no hanging tags or labels since they can be itchy.

I have worn these shirts for years and love them. This year however, the scoop neck is way too deep leaving the entire chest uncovered. I get these to keep warm. This one just does not cut it.

This is my second purchase of this long underwear top. I wear it so often in the winter that I need a spare. It is light and silky and fits under almost anything without adding bulk. The scoop neck is a little deep but the point is not to show so I guess that is ok. The silk pointelle set is great for winter travel also. I wish the tag were not on the side seam- when I removed it the seam split.

This is a classic LL Bean reliable item. It is warm but not bulky . It is expensive. It does run big but it is not a size bigger. Instead it is a roomy loose fit and not like a body suit. It can easily be used under garments without being noticeable. It can snag but that is because it is silk.

Runs slightly large, I wear 2X and could get away with 1X. It is good for layering. Easy care. I bought 2 last year and 2 this year.

From late fall to late spring I wear this long underwear. It keeps me warm & layers well. I recommend Bean's silk pointelle over other brands I've tried.

I love these silk underwear for winter. I bought my first set 10 years ago and I'm just now replacing them with a new set (even those the old ones are still good though showing some wear). So maybe pricey but for 10 years they are well worth it! I really like the new scoopneck. The old shirts were too high and showed around the neck under shirts and sweaters. If my neck/chest is cold then i just throw on a scarf. Thanks for making a scoopneck!
Also i have a set and love to sleep in them. They are the perfect light weight and warm PJs!
