Rated 5 out of 5 by Lolosmom Expensive but worth it
I bought the 3/4 sleeve version of this a couple years ago and found myself wearing it constantly through the fall and winter under blouses and sweaters. It is lightweight but adds just enough warmth to make the difference between being chilly and comfortable around the office, without adding bulk. I was initially hesitant because they are expensive, but I wear them so much that they are well worth it. They always sell out during the winter, so if you want one for this season, get it early.

The lightweight silk pointelle top with the scoop neck (and matching bottom) is perfect for chilly weather as a first layer. They are weightless and small to pack and are perfect to sleep in. I launder them in cold water in a zipper lingerie bag and hang briefly or lay flat on a towel to dry. My only complaint is a large, scratchy tag at the back of the neck which was easily remedied with a pair of scissors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 21044 Just what i wanted
Just what I wanted but had to return the item as my body was not sized to fit the this lovely silk undershirt, guess I'll stick to the sleeveless ones I've bought in the past. And, of course, no problem in returning it, can't ask for more than that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Molliowa Perfect!
I purchased this as a base layer for an extreme weather trip, but ended up wearing it regularly during our cold Midwestern winter. Although the neck is large, I found it looked nice under scoop neck tops, so no complaints. The fabric is thin so it doesn't make me look chubbier. I am a solid size 12, ordered a M top, which fit fine. I washed it inside out on gentle cycle and hung to dry. No snags, no problems.
The only suggestion I would make is, if you are between sizes, purchase smaller. With wear, it stretches.

by 6CatsMom Only Short-Waisted and Bold Need Buy!
I have bought their long "pant" silk pointelle so I kinda thought I knew what I was getting myself into. I thought that going thru the negative reviews would help me to buy the top I wanted, but boy, did I goof. It was snug and SHORT. And guess what it did after I washed it? Mmm. (16" underarm seam) I forgot that I was long-waisted (2" more than average). Forget having anything to tuck. And if your chubbiness tends to hike your shirt up, ahhh-mama..."Look at the lady's bellybutton!" By the time I had worn and washed it, I had tossed the box, plastic...oh...everything away. And yet the sleeves fit my "monkey" arms just fine?!
Pointelle's whole point (pantyhose-like, remember) is that it resists running...for a while. With my cats, it took a year of hard use for the first run to show up on the pants, then it was downhill after that. (A different brand, not pointelle, didn't even last one wearing.) As I mentioned before, you can see through the silk...your arm, print on a book (not that I read thru them), your bra! If you wear an over-shirt, it's fine, but don't think it's anything like the waffled long underwear. My husband thinks I'm quite the cat's meow when I wear it for him though. ;-)
I don't quite understand reviews of how the cut of the neckline is low. I am poorly endowed, and the neckline is nowhere near anything. All I could imagine is an endowment raising the shirt and making it even SHORTER. It's 9-inches from the top seam of my shoulder to the bottom middle of the U (1X).
Please see my photo if you want to see my see-thru shirt. (not w/me in it though. :-D) Hope this helps YOU decide.

35* in Florida and I wore my Silk undershirt under a light sweatshirt and a light jacket. My legs were cold but my chest wasn't!! This makes me feel better about upcoming Alaska trip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Junodog Perfect solution to itchy wool!
I got this about a week ago and have been wearing it quite a bit underneath all my new wool sweaters. So excited to be wearing wool again without itchiness. I got another one in black, slightly different style. They both feel silky and keep me warm and dry. I can't believe I waited so long to buy them. Worth every penny. Love!

i really wanted this to work, as my office is freezing and i was hoping this would be the answer. but, alas, even the petite was to large to be able to comfortable layer over. and on top of that, this silk shirt was see thru and felt really flimsy. so back it went.
over all - i felt this was not up to llbeans usually high standards.
