Rated 5 out of 5 by XuxasMom wonderful under-layer
I love this undershirt--silky, light, warm, comfortable fit. If I could afford more, I'd have one for every day.

Rated 4 out of 5 by LabRetrieverLover Great for travel
I bought a couple of these for a winter European trip. I wanted to extend the number of times I could wear sweaters, dresses, etc.
These undershirts are great for that purpose. They are very thin (definitely not for wear alone), but they are comfortable, breathable, and absorbent. They compress very well for packing and dry overnight after hand washing. My only complaint is that the sleeve opening was a bit tight at the end of the arm, but it did stretch out after a while. I wear a size 12 in Bean tops/dresses and a medium was plenty generous in the torso and bust. I wouldn't go larger if you want a sleek fit under clothes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Callie13 Not too warm
I have a few three quarter sleeve length sweaters. I was looking for something that would add a little warmth and yet not show under the sweaters. This top was perfect. Good fit. Didn't show under my clothes. Added warmth but not too much warmth so I could wear it while teaching.

Rated 4 out of 5 by notsokeen Love this silk layer!
This is the second time I have ordered the scoop neck silk layer. I like the scoop neck because it does not show with a variety of necklines. What I have found is that they really only last one season as the underarms become worn-even with scrupulous washing. I was disappointed to see that the nude color was not offered this year however I did order the white and pink. I am satisfied with this product.

Just order your regular size in this or the bottoms. They are superb in quality and comfort.

Rated 2 out of 5 by rumbasmama has gotten thinner
I have bought this product a few times and was satisfied before. This time, it has gotten so thin that I won't purchase this product any longer. I know silk is sold "by weight", just as silver and gold, and since the price of silk has gone up, I guess they use less of it now. I would look for elsewhere for a better product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Snowfall top quality, delicate versatile layering piece.
it is somewhat stretchy but still fits nicely. i'm 5'5", 130 lbs, size small fits right. the scoop and 3/4 sleeves mean I can wear this with more sweaters and tops than long sleeve undershirts.

for my sister, size 2, who is always cold. Says it keeps her comfortable under regular clothes in house without extra sweater.
wears top and bottoms. Only down side was I didn't get the color I wanted as it was out-of -stock the week before Christmas. So don't count on availability at short notice or busy times. Several experiences with poor color selection at LL Bean. Colors tend to be muted and drab, not suited for my color palette. Fortunately, silk underwear is always covered.

I purchased the Silk Pointelle top after hearing that silk was a good, warm base layer. I tend to be cold all the time and when I saw that L.L.Bean sold silk base layers and receiving a gift cert for a birthday gift I decided to finally purchase one. After reading the reviews and consulting with a friend who also loves L.L. Bean I went with this one and, so far, have not been disappointed. I hope that the weather will cool down here and become winter again so I can use it more.
