I bought this for my daughter, and it is snugly, warm, & wonderful. I honestly can't tell that it is any different than the LLBean goose-down comforter on my bed.
I do understand why people have mentioned that it is a bit crinkly, and those reviews did cause me to really think about making this purchase, but I am so glad I did. I suppose there is a bit more rustle than a blanket, but I can't say I've ever used a filled comforter that sounded much different. My down comforter sounds exactly the same, and this crinkling is not something I ever would have thought about if not for these reviews, nor has it ever bothered me or kept me up at night!

This is my first comforter. It is amazing. The corner ties make the comforter stay in place. It is very light, but warm. I was able to turn our nighttime thermostat down two degrees. Feels like luxury to me. There is a very slight sound as there would be with any fabric on fabric movement - not anything to worry about thought.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RenetteShopper Exactly what I needed
It's not bulky or heavy. It's light weight, yet warm. I ordered the king size and it's easy to wash in front load machine. Very pleased.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ohiomainer74 great warmth but...
Upon opening this comforter you are immediately overwhelmed with a strange chemical smell. I had it in my house for a day, and when a friend visited they asked "are you paining a room." It was that strong of an odor. The good thing is the smell will go away if you air it out for a week- which is what I did but it does smell when it first arrives. The item ships from a 3rd party vendor (not Bean) and I do think they should look into this.

Yes, this comforter definitely crinkles. Sound has softened over 3 months, and we find the gentle crinkle quite soothing as we settle in for slumber. Otherwise, the comforter is well made, fits our platform bed well, and is a perfect weight for our 65oF sleeping environment.

We've had 3 comforters: the first one was too light to use alone (with a top sheet, but no additional blankets), the second was too heavy/warm, but this one is just right. High quality, well made comforter with no down floating around the bedroom.

Rated 1 out of 5 by RedlandsReviewer Big Disappointment
The covering on the comforter feels like plastic and sounds like you are sleeping under a bag of potato chips. I used a LL Bean duvet to encase the "comforter", but still too " crunchy" for me. Certainly not up to the usual Bean standards! The Bean return staff was very helpful.

Very warm snuggly comforter with a major drawback- the fabric encasing the comforter is acoustically identical to a tarp flapping in a hurricane. I had read other reviews stating such and thought people were just being overly precious, but no- this comforter sounds like plastic crinkling as you sleep. The slightest movement and you will wonder if you've woken inside a dumpster.
I'm really disappointed for the amount of money I've laid out, and this product is not up to LLBeans high quality standards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LuggageLover Loved the first one so much, bought another!
I bought this for my daughter. Is is very difficult to find a comforter with duvet ties. My daughter loved her comforter so much, I bought another for my son. If laid flat for 3 days, it will puff up nicely. My kids sleep in a cold room. They commented that when they first get under the comforter, they are cold, but warm up rapidly. It keeps them warm throughout the night!
