áby MrKlaus Polyester microfibers migrate through fabric shell
We originally purchased two of these to use as duvets inside cotton covers. They are warm and comfortable and the cotton covers seems to reduce the noise some people mentioned. We were happy with them until it came time to wash the outer covers.
When we pulled the comforters out, after a couple months of use, we found the inside of the cotton covers covered with thousands of little white fuzzy balls! Somehow the extremely fine polyester fibers had come through the comforter shell and formed the white pills between the shell and cotton cover.
We exchanged the comforters for a new set and had the same problem again.
Removing the polyester from the cotton covers was difficult. They did not wash off. The best solution we found was to us a canister vacuum cleaner fitted with an upholstery brush. It took two people; one to hold the cloth taught while the other vacuumed. ...In case anyone else has this problem.

Right out the box I was impressed with the quality of the cover and the loft of this comforter. We tried it out without a duvet cover on it to make sure we liked it and it slid around our king-sized bed a bit too much, Luckily I intended to put it in a duvet cover anyway (bought the Sand Dollar Stripe cover) and it's perfect. The comforter has loops on the corners so that you can attach it to the ties that are inside the duvet cover---how convenient! I haven't washed it yet, but I imagine it will be fine. The best part is the warmth without the weight. The down alternative has maintained its' loft all winter long. Obviously, it would be too warm for summer, but we already have a nice Bean quilt for that. The comforter also comes with a nice storage bag.

Vastly prefer this to a down comforter. No weird wet feather smell or clumping. Comes out of the dryer perfectly fluffy. I have purchased two of these comforters and want a third! Love it.

Nice quality but I wish the dimensions had been listed because the queen is just too narrow if two people are in the bed. 88w x 98 long. The length is fine.

When I pulled the comforter out of its delivery pack it felt so light weight I wondered how it could be rated "Warmer." Its wonderfully warm, beautifully constructed - queen size (not full/queen) - made in the USA! Our new comforter replaced three blankets (one quilted) and a bedspread. Can hardly wait for the new cover to arrive.

Primaloft Comforter is an excellent alternative to down and much cheaper. I love it. It's very warm.

King-size comforter for queen bed - why did it take me so long to figure out that's the right size? This Primaloft comforter is nice and warm (i chose the 'warmer' option, which i think is actually the warmest). In fairness, we do also have flannel sheets and a wool blanket on, so i'm not sure whether it would be warm enuf on its own. But it's definitely warmer than our previous primaloft-type from a different vendor. Doesn't make much sound when moving around.

Should have purchased an additional one for the guest room. Perfect weight, it took the place of 3 blankets. King size fits a Queen bed without sliding around.

I just purchased the down alternative comforter since for the past 4 or 5 years, I just couldn't find a solid ivory comforter anywhere. Being a LLBean product (so I thought, its actually an outside company that makes this), I was elated to see that finally there was an ivory comforter. The size for a queen bed could be larger. What baffles me to the point that I don't know if I'm going to keep it, is the strange crackling noise like crumpled up paper when you move it. I would like to see just what is inside this comforter to make this noise. For the price I paid for this, I was hoping for a quality LLBean product without this oddity. Maybe LLBean will help with showing me what type of material is making this noise as I can't see paying $150.00 for crumpled up paper or plastic sandwiched between fabric for a bed covering.
