What a great shirt / jacket . Just got this shirt and I can see it's gonna be a good friend this winter . Nice and warm and a perfect fit . I'm 6 ' 2" , 215 lbs , and a large / tall worked out fine . It's cut a little big ,so it's perfect over a sweatshirt or a sweater . Thanks LL Bean . Well done .

Rated 3 out of 5 by Linda138 Too biggggg!!
This item appears to be good quality. Unfortunately, it runs very big. My boyfriend always wears an XL so that's what I bought. The shoulders and sleeves fit fine. However, the shirt was huge around the torso, even over another shirt. There was way too much material. He could probably have held a soccer ball against his midsection and still buttoned the shirt. He's close to 6', and 195. I'm returning it, which is a nuisance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tantalus5 I'll be in this all winter
I am 5'10" and 210, and the XL was huge. L fits nice, side pockets are a nice touch. A great alternative to wearing a sweatshirt all the time. Have had the shirt in the low 30s so far...gets too warm inside above 60 for me. The canvas is surprisingly heavy. Have spilled coffee and beer on it, and has beaded up so far. Not sure If the repellant quality will last after washes. Not for the trail, but ideal for chilly nights. Will get another color soon.

bought this for the hubby, and he loves it.
it really is water repellant, and so warm.
have washed it, and the fleece has stayed 'as is'.
i do avoid the dryer, though. put it in for 10 minutes or so, and hang it. no wrinkles, no shrinking.
he's 5'10, 160 lbs, and the medium fits great. (just FYI)
i guess inside pockets of some sort would be helpful, but for what it is (a lined shirt) it's terrific.
and yes, c'mon, Bean...make it in a ladies! :)
we work outdoors, too.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Mel72 need women's version
If this came in XS or a women's version AND had square-cut hem rather than shirt-tail, it would be my 5-star dream. (It's a jacket. Why the shirt tail?) I have the old flannel-lined one, size S, so I know whereof I speak. I'm a baby-boomer active woman ... there's a market for this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BillOfMontana A heavy warm shirt jacket
This is probably the warmest shirt I've ever owned. Looking to wear this a lot when temps get into single digits and sub-zero.
Probably most will use this as a shirt jacket, but I was able to take some excess material from around the shirttails, and now this tucks into the trousers without looking bulky.

Rated 5 out of 5 by VikingIrish Tough, warm, without being bulky
I've always prefered wearing heavy lined shirts over coats, because of the comfort and freedom of movement they provide. This is only a shirt in name, as it has features you'd expect to find on a heavy duty jacket, built to withstand what ever punishment is thrown its way. With a hat, gloves, and a flannel shirt worn underneath, this shirt-jac kept me warm the time I spent outside during the recent "Polar Vortex". It has hand warmer pockets, is both wind resistant, and water repellent. If you require a product that will help keep you warm and stand up to punishiment without being bulky, this is it. It is definitely the heaviest shirt I own, but is lighter than most jackets. I used my coupons earned, and only paid a few bucks for mine, so I was lucky, but even if you have to pay the full cost, it is money well spent. A really well made product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DuoSonic Fleece Lined Canvas Shirt
If I'm not mistaken, this shirt was originally called a shirt-jac, which is an appropriate description. I purchased it specifically for that purpose. I ordered a large and it fits great. The fleece lining keeps me warm and does help move away moisture. The side pockets come in handy . The canvas seems very durable. A keeper !

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nickname1963 Comfortable and Warm in different weather
I was looking for a new jacket with casual look, yet could wear out in public. I like the hand pockets and the chest pockets. Warmer than I thought. It was sized larger than I had thought. I normally wear a medium, but since I wanted to wear as a jacket; I went with a large. That became a gift and I got myself a medium which fits fine even with thick chamois shirt underneath.
