Rated 3 out of 5 by cardib Slim, fits well in small space
The Mission end table is slim and looks great by our coach. We have two disappointments: shipping took a long time (a few weeks) and the table was difficult to put together. It took a lot of strength to get the screws deep enough to pull the sides of the table together.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AnacortesShopper Attractive, nice size, easy to assemble
While most of the reviews I read were very positive, there were a couple that complained of a poor fit when assembling. However ours went together perfectly the first attempt. My husband and I worked on it together and we had it together in less than 25-30 minutes - it looks very nice in our great room. I would definitely purchase another one of these if I needed one. And would recommend it to others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Pete2e A nice piece of furniture
I just finished assembling the side table and end table, and think the reviews overstate the difficulty with assembling these tables. They are pretty easy to assemble with a just a screw driver and hammer, although a cordless drill driver makes things go a lot quicker. Fit and finish were good on the side table. Everything lined up reasonably well, the holes were in the right places and the right size. I'd give the larger end table just 4 stars, as the fit and finish wasn't quite as nice, although more than acceptable. One tip I'm surprised they don't tell you is to put a scrap piece of wood over the wood plugs when hammering them into place. The scrap wood takes all the abuse, allowing a nice flush fit of the plug without marking the furniture.

My wife & I purchased this for our living room to go with our leather sectional couch because of the styling, size & height was perfect. Before the purchase I read some of the previous reviews where some had difficulty lining the screws up with the pre-drilled holes and even felt they had to enlarge the holes to get the screws in & tight. This did not really concern me because of a trick I learned years ago.
Again, the holes in my case did line up correctly. The trick is to take the screw & scrape is across a bar of soap so that some of the soap becomes imbedded in the threads of the screw. This acts as a lubricant which is very useful when screwing into a hardwood like ash. The screws that go into the top of the table go in last and at first appeared to be misaligned. However, if you loosen the screws enough (including the ones already installed by the factory) you will have enough play in the bracket that you can get the holes to line up closely enough to get the small screws in the holes & screwed down into the top.
My only criticism is the wood plugs that go into the screw holes after the table is together were not much of a match for a table with a light stain. I think they could do a little better so the plugs don't contrast so much with the rest of the table. If the plugs are to hide the screw then why make the plugs so visible? Other than that the table is awesome and of a quality that you cannot touch for the price. Every piece is ash except the bottom of the drawer which is probably ash plywood. If you appreciate real wood furniture & are a little bit handy this is a good buy. My rating would actually be 41/2 stars but this form does not allow you to put in 1/2 of a star.

Rated 2 out of 5 by allthatendswell great if you have the right tools
It's a beautiful solid-wood piece. It is working well in the location and for our intended purpose.
The assembly was a challenge. I had the problems that other reviewers had with holes not easily lining up for the brackets that attached the top. That slowed the project.
However, my biggest challenge was that the drawer would not slide into place once I got to the final steps. The rails that guide and support the drawer were too close together by about 1/16" to accommodate the width of the drawer. After sanding almost a 1/16" from each of the rails with a palm sander, the drawer slid in as it should have.
The end result was a great little table. But it was a much more time consuming project than it should have been had it been more carefully engineered and manufactured.

The finished product is 5 stars. The LLBean service is 5 stars. The several other items we have "built" of this line, "Mission", are 5 stars.
I rate this three stars only to get your attention. The product initially shipped had brackets and predrilled holes that did not line up properly. Customer service was very apologetic and shipped another one immediately. It was better but still holes not matching up. They offered to check one by pre-assembling and then repackaging for shipment, which incidentally is what the video from the mfr. purports is done with all their products. I was not interested in trying again and so I suggested that I would complete the assembly by moving brackets, drilling new holes, etc, but that I was not happy paying full price. The customer service person and I arrived at a substantial discounted price which was satisfactory to me. This resulted in only one table being shipped back (take photos when you unpack this kind of thing if you ever want it back in the box as originally packed), and the "enhanced" assembly procedures were easy enough and the final product, like the other pieces we have, is very nice and highly recommended. With a five star rating I am afraid the review would be passed over by many people, since I imagine for the whole line there are many. I will say that a person with low to average carpentry skills could make the modifications I did, but should not be expected to. Again, the LLBean customer service is tops and one should measure them not by whatever problems pop up from time to time, but how they interact with you to resolve the issue. I think the mfr. could make a production change to obviate this type of problem, with a slightly different assembly procedure and way to check the product before the artful way it goes into the shipping box.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Purpleapple Nice table. Just what we needed.
Overall, it's a really nice table and the size and functionality we could not find anywhere else. I looked even at the Amish places and nothing was this size or functionality. We ordered two. Really like the design (thing open at the end rather than the side) and the fact that it is all wood with the exception of the drawer bottom which is a plywood. My husband easily put it together (although he is a former mechanic and handy man); he said that the pieces weren't labeled and that would have been a nice addition to instructions. Only other complaint is that the legs are not entirely level/even so had to add a foot pad and that problem was with both tables. But there's always something that isn't quite right with anything. I would still recommend.

This is a great table. Exatly what I was looking for. A bit of a bother to assemble, but as long as you're careful everything lines up.

Rated 2 out of 5 by hrivers99 Good design, bad engineering
Looks good. Really difficult to assemble. OK, I got it together - quite a challenge. Assembly approach assumes close to perfect alignment of holes - alignment was really bad. Also, some holes are drilled too small - I had to disassemble and re-drill to get the top on. In any case, the approach to getting the top on is very poor. Unless you're up to a major challenge, I would pass on this piece of furniture and maybe any furniture from LL Bean that requires assembly. They really don't know what they're doing in this area.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Louna solid side table but difficult to assemble
I love this table now that it is assembled. However, it was very difficult to put together not because of the design but because the holes for the screws etc. were not placed correctly and it was very hard to screw together. Too bad the holes are not well done.
