Rated 1 out of 5 by LoveArt Marked blue version is not the same
I own two other Signature fisherman sweater in solid colors and they are fabulous. But the marked version was a totally different story. I wear 4 in signature. The first solid one I purchased in size 4 had a plenty of room, so I ordered my second one in XS and it was more fitted but still comfortable and looked flattering. I got excited about the marked version and ordered both XS and S. They were both sized the same and both too tight and too short, the neck opening was even smaller, overall very unflattering. What's up with that? Maybe this marked yarn was hard to work with? I have never given LLB one star rating before, this was the first.

Rated 2 out of 5 by AndieE Disappointingly Unflattering
I am so bummed this didn't work out! The material felt warm and thick. I got the ember, which isn't as bright as is pictured online. It is a beautiful light burnt orange color. And it looked casual and country chic.
I am 5'2'', 130 lbs with an athletic build. I usually wear a size 4 or 6 depending on the brand and fit. And I have muscular shoulders and arms.
With that said the size S fit. However, the length is extremely short, and I have a short torso!!! When I raised my arms, the sweater rose above my navel. I also didn't like the shape or maybe the styling? The sweater looked very unflattering around my upper arms and chest. Rather than having a flattering fit here, the sweater gave me a chunky and shapeless silhouette. If you have a large chest, I would worry this would make you look top heavy.
It is a beautifully constructed sweater, but the fit left something to be desired. I thought about exchanging for a medium, but after trying it on several times on different days, I determined it wasn't a sizing issue.
I returned this item and am still wishing it miraculously would look more flattering. It did nothing for me.

I really loved the orange color, and styling of this sweater. If only the fit wasn't so odd on me. I am 5'7 and around 110lbs, I ordered the small and it fit great around the waist and hips, and was a perfect length. But around the bust, shoulders and armpit area there was just too much extra fabric. If i ordered and XS I still don't think the fit around those areas would be better, and it would be too tight around the waist and too short.
It was a beautiful sweater, and I wished that the sizing had worked out better for me.

I debated between the S and XS in this sweater, due to all the frantic reviews decrying it for being insultingly small. I am 5'5" 120 lbs with 30D chest. I went with the XS because I am petite with a short torso and it fits wonderfully. I would definitely not call it fitted - for example, the fabric does sort of puff out at my low back and bunches in places when I bend or twist - basically it fits like a fisherman sweater should, not bulky but substantial and comfy. I did try it on with a button-down underneath and it fit, but it didn't quite look right. The neck is thick and sits a bit higher so you don't see the collar of the shirt anyhow, and the cuffs are snug, so I couldn't really have pulled the shirtsleeves through comfortably. It really looks better on its own in my opinion, so I think I'll wear it with just a basic long-sleeved t-shirt underneath, hair pulled up with some red lipstick and hot cocoa :)

I bought one of these last fall in blue, size XL to accommodate my bust. That sweater is beautifully fitted, chunky, and heavy. After waiting several weeks for a backorder fulfillment, I received the cream one in XL and it is like a different sweater altogether.
It was noticeably lighter in weight than the blue, and knit not nearly as densely. I tried it on and it was huge, falling to my lower hip. I actually laid it out with the blue on top of it and there were several inches difference in all dimensions. I don't believe the blue shrank, as I've only laundered it once and laid it on a rack to air dry.
I'm still trying to decide whether to try the cream in L...I'm afraid the sizing will be off no matter what, and that they'll all lack the dense, chunky knit of my blue...

I was hesitant about buying my regular size for this sweater due to the other reviews, but i bought my usual size small, and it fits perfect, and i can put a button down shirt under it, so i would say go with your size unless you want it big. I love the way it fits (fitted), and I love the color, and have gotten many compliments on the sweater! It has been my go to sweater this winter!

I have been searching for the perfect fisherman's cableknit sweater, and this is it. It is a well-made, heavy sweater with a great fit. I am 5'7" 130 lbs and a medium fits like a glove. There's still room for a collared shirt underneath without looking bulky. The faded characteristic of the navy color gives it a unique, but vintage look. It's also very warm. I love it.

I bought the S (due to reviews saying this was tiny) and when it arrived it was not tiny. The signature fit wasn't any smaller or more fitted than a normal LL Bean sweater. So I had to return it and order an XS. It fits ok in XS, it is still loose on me but the washed look is a unique effect, it's very warm, and the quality is beyond excellent. I wish it was offered in petite, I am 5' and 100# so the sleeves are long as is the length of the sweater, a petite XS would be 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by irisheyes789 Simply a great sweater
This is simply a great sweater. I was looking for a sweater with an "Aran hand-knit" look-the signature sweater of the Irish fishermen that is typically made from Irish wool. Authentic Aran hand-knit sweaters, though, tend to be very heavy, bulky and itchy-no matter what size or style. So when I came across this picture, the sweater did not look bulky on the model and actually looked a little fitted. Just what I was looking for. It definitely has a more slender fit to it and it is waist-length, so it doesn't fall far below the belt for a very cute, feminine look. I have a more slender build (5' 6", 125) and the thing fit like a glove. Not much room for anything underneath except a tanktop, which is perfect since the material is heavy enough for warmth, but not too bulky.
The material is not authentic Irish wool (made in China), but that's not entirely a bad thing because it's a very soft material that is not too heavy and itchy. I've worn several times without having to wash and it's really retained its shape. The color is not quite the warm vanilla color of a true Irish wool sweater, it's actually more of a muted off-white. Again, not a bad thing, it is what it is. Overall, just get it. You won't regret it. This is a current, cute alternative to your Irish granny's Aran hand-knit.
