Rated 5 out of 5 by 4art Beautiful sweater - well made - perfect fit
I am very pleased with this sweater. I ordered the color "Fig". Based on the reviews I read, I ordered a medium first (I usually wear a small). The size medium was too big -- sleeves too long and sweater too long. If you want a fit similar to what is shown on the model, order the size you usually wear. The size small is perfect. Exactly what I wanted. If there were problems with the fit of the neck, that problem has been corrected. Both sweaters fit easily over my head.
Before ordering the small, I called an got all of the measurements for this sweater. I wish I had called before I ordered the medium. The associate I spoke with was very helpful.
I am happily returning the size medium and keeping the size small.

Rated 4 out of 5 by XCskier58 Shouldn't have ordered up
I followed the advice of previous customers and ordered up for this sweater. It was too big, and had to be sent back. I would stick with your normal signature size, as I wish I would have done. I am waiting for my normal size, but I did love the color, and quality of the sweater. It looked great with a light denim shirt, and I found the cotton to be comfortable and soft, not scratchy and stiff as some described. Always impressed with my purchases from Signature, and especially love the fitted styling of the clothes.

I ordered "up" to a size small after reading the reviews.
(Just so you know ... I am 5' 1/2" tall and weigh in at 104 pounds.)
Could not slide my little head/arms into the the sweater.
That's as far as I got.
I liked the color (blue) + design. I hope Barbie likes it too!

The sweater is well made but I usually wear an LLB XS-S and the medium sweater barely made it over my head. As mentioned by other reviewers, the neck opening is hilariously small and high. Arms are long, but so tight I couldn't wear more than a camisole underneath.
Back to Freeport it goes...

Rated 5 out of 5 by truther Really glad I read the reviews
Having read the reviews, I ordered up and got a L, which fit my usual-size S or M perfectly. No problems with a too-tight neck, no problems with the sleeve length. To me, this is the type of sweater that ought to fit loosely and have room for a shirt underneath if you want. The faded blue denim look is great for it, and the cotton knit feels strong and sturdy. This will be perfect for fall and winter when you may not want to wear a jacket but you do want to be warm. I can't imagine anyone not needing a sweater like this for their wardrobe! And having it in cotton instead of wool just makes it that much more comfortable. Love it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Midwestclassic Pretty knit, bad fit
I'm 5'10" 145 lbs, a 34d, & 33 years old. I look like my grandma in this sweater - not what I'm going for here. Sorry, grams. I bought this in beige, medium hoping to style it with skinny jeans and boots. I wanted it to be more fitted. It fits me like a men's sweater with the band on the bottom and bulky bulge above the band. The sweater is also not as cropped as it is in the photo. The upper arms are too roomy and the extra fabric wrinkles giving me floppy arms. Bummer! I want this sweater to work, considering ordering a small.

This sweater is of excellent quality--the cotton knit is heavy and substantial, and the sweater is fitted enough that it doesn't look baggy. This is a nice casual classic that I expect to use for many years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PalePixie Beautiful, warm sweater
I really like this sweater. It's a heavy cotton that feels like it will last a long time. I'm 5'5 122 pounds with a 32B chest and I ordered my usual "Signature" size small. I like the short length. It's a little bit snug, especially in the arms. I probably should have ordered a medium, but it doesn't look too tight with my denim shirt under it so I decided to keep it.

I have this sweater in white and brick red, and was so happy to see it in blue, that I just ordered it in that color, as well. I normally wear XS and have one in that size and one in S. I ordered the blue one in XS knowing that it is a snug fit, which I like. I really like the short length (I am 5'1" and 105 pounds) and the heavy feel of the knit. I find this sweater to be so comfortable and flattering. I wear it with denim skirts, pants, and jeans. I read that some reviewers complained that the knit is not soft---a fisherman's sweater is not meant to be soft. However, LLBean offers other sweaters in a similar style in a soft knit, so we can all be happy!!

I'd recommend this sweater to someone by saying that it looks just like the photograph. I'd have to add that I imagined it would feel more handknit--softer, lighter (this is a heavy sweater-- and more supple. I did not find that it runs large and was able to put it on without problems. That said, it is the neck that caused me to return the sweater #Actually, I ordered two--the blue and the reddish-brown.) The neck just seemed to be in an odd place for me, though on a younger neck, it would probably have looked better. I think the sweater is probably just a three-star--an average sweater, one that looks better than it is.
