Bought the caramel patent leather color last year and just love them! Saw the reptile color on sale and purchased them recently. Nice deep brown. Had to purchase the black suede at the same time even though not on sale. I will watch for these to go on sale and will order more. I would purchase red if on sale. They are so comfortable from the first day. Pointy but, not pointed works great! Looking forward for them to go on sale so I can buy backup caramel and black suede. These are my favorite flats for sure!

Rated 5 out of 5 by westford Perfect pointed flat
As another reviewer described this shoe, it is "pointed" but not "pointy". I love the wooden stack heel as well. It's hard to find a flat with a little heel, and it makes it look dressier than a 1/4" heel. There's also a little bit of padding inside.
About color: The reddish shade is more like a dark orange. I don't think I'm keeping it because I had wanted red. The cobalt blue is gorgeous; it's not too bright, but a nice blue.
About size: I agree with the other reviewers who said these run small. I wear size 10 and am keeping the 11s. They're a smidge big, but I'd rather a tad of looseness than so tight they form blisters. They don't seem like a true 11; more like 10.5. If I need to, I could stuff a little lamb's wool in the toe. (I also have the platform sandals and kept the 11s.)
Thanks for making such a great shoe, LL Bean!

The only pair of shoes you need for a weekend in town.
Chic. Classic. Perfect. Beautifully fine black suede.
I concur with another reviewer: Refined, comfortable out of the box.
Got them last minute for sister's wedding. Instant favorites.
Cannot recommend highly enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Preservationist Sturdy, attractive flat
This shoe is my best purchase in 2012; I have both the bordeaux and black suede versions. I generally do not find that flat shoes have adequate support for my feet, but these are sturdy and supportive. It's surprising the difference in appearance that comes from a beautifully designed and cut shoe. These are almost elegant in their cut and don't leave my ankles and thighs looking like stumps. If I could, I would wear one of these pairs every day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by secret Comfortable and Elegant!
"Nice shoes! where did you get them?" "LLBean." "REALLY??" Yes, really. I got the black suede in 8.5 (8.5 is my "normal" size for all brands except regular Bean shoes where I take an 8). This is a dressy, low-heel shoe, comfortable out-of-the-box, very well constructed, and elegant. I recommend it and I would say: order it in the size you would normally wear in other brands. Worth the money!

Rated 2 out of 5 by HollyinMS Disappointing, cramped fit
This review is for the leather flat in Bordeaux color. I normally wear an 8.5 shoe, so that's what i ordered...but it fit like an 8. Very tight, and it cramped my right foot so badly that there was just no way I could just "break them in" (you know how you try to talk yourself into buying uncomfortable shoes??). I can't tell you how much I wanted these to work, I've been looking all over for some nice, basic flats and I love the understated styling of these, but the toe is just too narrow, and I suspect going up 1/2 a size would make them too loose elsewhere.

These flats are GORGEOUS. The suede is soft, almost like a nubuck-level nap. The pointed (not pointY) toe box and eversoslight heel give the shoe an ELEGANCE that is exactly what I've been looking for!!! Goes with skirts! Trousers! Skinnies! Dresses! In NYC, one tries to look refined while staying comfy, and round toe flats just do not offer that look. I was fortunate enough to try these lovelies on in the Freeport Flagship store in another color, but needed the black for work so had to purchase online. (Why would you not carry a staple like black suede in-store?) I generally wear a 10wide and the size 11 fit PERFECTLY with just a teensy bit of wiggle room , no breaking- in required. I would say if you have a wide foot, order up for sure. Any shoe that can make my huge foot look pretty? I'm all over it! If they came in eight colors I'd buy all eight. Speaking of, why one finish per color? What if I want a Bordeaux suede or a beige lizard print? Or black patent? In any event, thank you for making the first flats I could EVER write home about.
