The only thing missing is the smell of cut sardines. This sweater is all that it intends to be, and nothing more... I mean that in a good way. Though I typically prefer wool, the cotton weave of the sweater is tight and rugged and has held it's shape after repeated wears.
For me, the fit is near perfect. I wear a 16x33 shirt and the medium fit my torso like a glove when layered over a button down. I have short arms, so the arms were a tad long, but nothing unmanageable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Thuvia Not just for men
This is a man's sweater, but I bought it for myself because I can't find good quality thick cotton sweaters for women anymore. I suppose they're out of fashion but I am tired of wearing four layers of women's clothing when two ought to do it so I like thick sweaters and they're impossible to find in women's sizes at affordable prices. This man's sweater is warm and chunky and comfy in this frickin' freezing cold California winter we're having. I wish it were available in a woman's cut but a man's fits well enough if I get a snug fit. I would recommend to women to look into these sweaters for everyday comfort, and I would recommend to LLBean that you start making them for women again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by GuyInColorado Quality construction: fit & color off
My Adventures in LL Bean Signature sizing continue. I'm used to getting items that are too large, although I've had a few sweaters that have been strangely slim/small. I ordered a medium in the lighter color and the color is noticeably more oatmeal than the pictures indicate. It also fits in the body more like a small. Might have been OK had I intended to wear it on its own exclusively, but as I normally layer sweaters like this, the fit over an undershirt was disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Glendower wonderful sweater!
This sweater is incredibly soft--so much so it almost feels like silk. It's heavy and warm, the perfect thing for a cool fall evening without a jacket, or under a coat in the winter. It fits snugly, but I like that. If you want a baggy sweater, order a size up. I ordered the navy, which looks a bit flat in the pictures. The weave looks beautiful, though, in person.
