This runs small, I returned it and am waiting for it (backordered). I love the color for visability when running. I think this will be fine in the larger sze , and if its a little big that would be ok, since i will wear extra clothing for fall jogging.

Rated 2 out of 5 by VAShopper100 Sizes Run Small
The sizes for this item run very small. I ordered a XL for my wife and it was obvious it was not sized correctly. I had the same problem with the men's jacket as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ILiketoWalk Be Seen!
I am a walker who walks early mornings 1/2 hour before sunrise and I also walk at night 1/2 hour after sunset. I purchased this jacket a few weeks ago for safety. I love it! It keeps me warm during my AM walk. The temps have been as low as 34 degrees and I am comfortable wearing a t-shirt, light weight polar fleece, and this jacket. I have received multiple compliments from complete strangers. They slow down to say how visible I am and how easily they were able to see me walking. It's a must have if you like to be out exercising at dawn or dusk!

Rated 4 out of 5 by dogwalker77 Great Jacket
Great Material/Great Visibility. Wear walking my dog in cooler temps in Maine. Paired with a mock-neck expedition weight base layer. I am warm enough even in the mid 20's in this jacket. However, design does not offer a lot of arm movement other than normal movement when walking or running. So, if you are looking for a biking jacket, this probably won't work for you. Additionally, sizing is different from other L.L.Bean products. Has a semi-fit (fitted in bust area and a little more relaxed at sweep). So, you cannot layer anything thick with this jacket. If you need a layer underneath for warmth, choose appropriate performance base layer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by LLBeanLulu sizing too small
The sizing is much too small. Order a couple of sizes greater than what you usually wear. It's a great jacket for 40 degrees or above and love the colors. Great visibility for nighttime wear! Returning it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Shirneen Night life jacket
I bought this jacket in the optic yellow color. I am 5'4'' and weigh 145 pounds. I bought the size L as I want to also wear it for golf and need the freedom to swing a club. I have very long arms and these sleeves fit perfectly. The jacket fit is perfect as well and the yellow color is extremely bright. I am hoping that means these senior citizens in FL will stop trying to run me off the road when I am riding my bike! Great quality jacket!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by BeanInternetShopper Nice jacket, doesn't fit
I ordered this instead of the Pearl Izumi because I wanted front pockets. I'm 5'9", 125 lbs. I usually wear a small, but ordered the Medium based on the earlier reviews. The jacket is a little short, the sleeves are a little short, the hips are too loose, and the jacket is too tight in the shoulders, restricting arm movement. The reviewer who stated that this jacket is not suitable for biking is right. The fabric and construction are nice, so too bad it fits strangely. I exchanged it for the Pearl Izumi jacket in a small.

Rated 4 out of 5 by USlUK927 Can you see me now?
I bought this jacket because I run on a road with a lot of traffic and I wanted to make sure I'm seen by drivers. I think I've achieved that! Additionally, I was drawn to having pockets -- I've been distance running in the winter cold, so I carry things like tissues, gloves, chapstick and energy gels in my pockets, in addition to my iPod! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it's a little tight around the shoulder area, and it pulls just a bit when I'm stretching, but it generally loose enough to wear over layers. Other than that, this jacket is perfect -- the first day I wore it, it was raining and slightly windy. It kept me dry and blocked some of the wind. I couldn't have been more pleased with this product. :-)

Rated 4 out of 5 by Miacomet Really 4 1/2 stars....
I purchased this jacket for my early morning (dark) runs in Washington State because I wanted a highly visible, lightweight, but warm running jacket. This jacket definitely fits the bill. In fact, despite the temperature rating, I was even comfortable on a 24-deg run last week. My only reason for not giving it five stars is the fit. I'm 5'5", 130 pounds and generally a 4/small. The small fits perfectly everywhere but the chest. It is rather snug there, slightly restricting complete range of motion in my arms. I ordered the medium to compare, but it was considerably too big everywhere else (though perfect in the chest). It seems like they got the proportions a little off. It is such a great jacket, however that I kept the small and am really happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by amanda4 Perfect running jacket
Brooks makes very high quality gear and this did not disappoint. This jacket is rated for 40-60 degrees but I wear it with a base layer once the temp hits 30 degrees and I'm fine. It blocks the wind well and breathes great. The designated phone/mp3 interior pocket is pretty small but there are two other inner pockets that will fit any size phone or media player. A few notes on the sizing: this is cut narrow in the shoulders and chest like most running jackets. If your chest is over 34" or you have broad shoulders, I would go up a size. If you plan to use this for biking, I would go up a size. The sleeves are pretty long as well so if you have long arms, you will love this jacket. It also provides great visibility-cars will be able to see you from plenty far away. This is a great jacket that I know will last for many years - I have a couple pairs of Brooks running shorts that I've had for over five years and they're not wearing out anytime soon.
