Rated 2 out of 5 by sportyshopperinva Overall too thin
I don't doubt that this would be a good very light base layer. But it is too thin for me. I got the black and it was entirely see through. Also, my fingertips (albeit they are a little dry in winter) immediately started snagging. I have seen and own better quality silk underwear. It just wasn't what I was hoping for. I am returning it.

Rated 4 out of 5 Nice but....
Love fabric and fit. Don't like the tiny white "pills" that quickly formed pretty much all over, especially underarm, presumably from wearing it under sweaters. Cuffs look cheap and ancient sticking out from sweater sleeves. As does any part extending below sweater

Rated 5 out of 5 by SheWhoLovesMaine warm, very comfy
I got this under wear to keep warm at home and traveling about in winter. It is absolutely doing what it is supposed to do. Keeping me warm! The neck is high, which I love because it keeps my neck warm. It needs to be coordinated with the top layer, a small price to pay for the functionality.
It also feels wonderful against the skin, so comfort is the name of the game here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Franey Women's silk turtleneck
My friend in Nova Scotia purchased my black turtleneck so I would have it to wear when I visited. I liked it so much,I ordered it in ivory. I am visiting and have practically worn them every day. They are thin, fit very close to the skin, thus keep u unbelievably warm as a layering piece.Yes they do snag easily as some reviews indicate but I am very careful and I do hang to dry. I recommend buying a size smaller as they run a bit big.I do not like the tight feel of a turtleneck around my neck and these are the best I have ever worn.I live in Florida and have even worn on our colder days there. Thanks to my friend for introducing this silk turtleneck to me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mildred1 I like it
I like that the shirt is a little long so that it easily tucks and stays in my slacks. It's a good beginning layer for warmth. The thin cloth doesn't give away the fact that I'm wearing it in my frigid office. And, I wore it to an indoor hockey game under other light clothing and wasn't unreasonably chilly. Can hardly wait to try it under a heavy sweater - should be perfect. In short, it works for me.

Purchased the top & bottom for my daughter who rows year round. She loves the top but will return the bottom because they ran large. I've already purchased a size down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Grandmaof18 Good looks with comfort
Such a practical layer. The silk is light but offers warmth. This is a replacement; a previous purchase needed to be updated. These are especially good for travel; easy to roll up and pack.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Goodmimi Disappointed
I purchased the silk underwear top for my granddaughter to layer for a winter camping trip. I was surprised to find how thin and delicate the material is. It feels like a pair of nylon stockings and must be washed very carefully. The material feels like it could snag very easily. I have to admit that I had no feedback from my granddaughter regarding the warmth factor, although I did not hear any complaints.

Item is VERY THIN. I had hoped to wear it alone, but must wear it under another top. Disappointing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Imateacher2 transparent
Maybe I missed the part of the description that said that this item is very nearly transparent. I had thought I might use this turtleneck as outerwear, using a long, open blouse as a jacket for the perfect layering. If I had known, I would still have made the purchase but in white. I still really like this turtleneck. The silk is quite light and also warm, but not suffocatingly so. It is so very easy to pack, and is ideal for any kind of winter travel, anywhere in the US.
