These pants must run a little small. I usually wear an 18 but needed a 20 in these and unlike many of my 18's they are not too big in the legs and hips. They actually look pretty nice on although I was going for warmth and comfort not looks. I am happy with them...they are nice and cozy.

These pants are perfect for cold weather and travel. The stretch and adjustable waist make these pants very comfortable. I bought the lined and unlined in the same size. The unlined fit and I had to exchange the lined pants for the next larger size.

These are really the best. Roomy not bulky, warm but breathable.
They don't make a lot of noise when you walk! This freezing winter, I even wore them to work and they looked totally appropriate in the office. I appreciate that the lining is a little fuzzy so you don't get that lining chill when you walk outside. No need to order up a size, they are soft and stretchy.

I never took them off throughout CT winter, and I walked almost everyday. They worked out even better than expected. Washed beautifully and were warm inside and out. More colors, please!

So hard to determine the fit when purchasing online. I am 5' 3.5" and 165 lbs. So surprised size 14 was a perfect fit. I expected them to be too long. They even look flattering.
I wore them for two weeks out in ?10C/14F windy weather. I was comfortable and warm. Amazingly, I did not feel hot when I wore them inside the house. I guess that's the breathability at work.
When the outside temperature rose to 0C/32F in the last couple of days, I wore my regular jeans out and felt cold! Now I don't want to take them off ever.
There are buttons on the inside waist where the elastic waist band loops onto. I have to make sure my undershirt is tucked into the pants as the buttons against my skin feel uncomfortable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by kretschd Nice pants for cold weather
I have these trail pants unlined and love them. I wanted to try the lined pants for football games in our NC mountains. But I am returning for the larger size as these seem 2 sizes smaller than the unlined pair. Otherwise, the are nice, cozy on the inside and I see they would be very nice on a windy, cool day in the mountains especially if sitting at a game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by carey44 almost perfect
I am short (5'2") so these are too long for me and difficult to hem because of the encased drawstring around the ankle. Even when not pulled snug, the adjustable pant hem also makes it hard to wear these for anything other than the hiking, mountaineering or the x-country skiing. I was hoping I could wear them around town for urban winter living, but because they are too long for me, I have to cinch up the hem to keep to above my shoes. That look is OK for athletics, but not for slightly more formal wear..
I love the wind and water repellent fabric of these pants. And it's not swishy/noisy when I'm active. The fleece lining is thin, not bulky, but still warm. The waistband is perfect. I am short waisted and it is hard to find pants that are comfortable when sitting. These pants sit perfectly, just below my waist, making them comfortable for sitting or moving. I have used these pants only once for x-country skiing and they worked well. The lining kept my legs warm so I didn't need the bulk of tights.
I have a feeling these will become my go to winter outdoors pants for outdoor activities. It took me years to find these. If only they were in petit sizes, I would order another pair.

After much searching, I discovered these pants and I am so happy I did. I even order several other name brand pants but sent them back because they did not meet my expectations. I was even willing to spend a lot more money to get the pants I wanted. These pants are terrific! Great material, warm, well made and many well placed pockets, even have the ability to adjust pant cuff. I could not be more pleased! Order them, you won't be disappointed.

I am wearing these as I type this review. I would own multiple pairs if LLBean would make them in other basic colors--khaki, dark and light gray, navy, olive, raisin. They are perfectly stretchy with a stretchy outer nylon pant, and soft and warm with the brushed thin fleece lining. They are not at all bulky looking, and look as trim on me as the unlined version does (also great).
For several years, I have wanted to get these pants, but when the weather was cold enough to need them, they were already sold out in my size. Finally this year, I ordered them as soon as they came out again in the fall. I have been wearing these almost every other day during this recent super cold streak of weather. They have popped in and out of the wash and come out looking like brand new.
They are pretty much the warmest (softest and stretchiest) pants that I own, other than technical ski pants.
I love the adjustable back elastic waist that buttons tighter or looser as needed. The small buttons ride just above my hip bones and do not irritate me, but might do so if the pants were too tight. They do run very true to size, as I usually wear a size 4 and they fit well. They are presently only offered in a regular inseam, with an adjustable cinch at the hem. This is OK for very casual pants for me, especially with hiking or winter boots, but too short for my normal 32" inseam legs. Please LLBean, offer these in the regular and medium tall lengths, so that I would be able to wear these with regular shoes in more social venues.
I need to comment also on the wonderful pockets on these pants. The front slash pockets are very deep. There are 2 rear zip pockets that are also very deep, but a bit less useful to me unless for tiny items. The best is the right thigh zip pocket, which is big enough for a smart phone or a small wallet and which is extremely handy. The entire inseam is also gusseted, allowing for more stretch and no binding with even deep bends and far reaching movements.
I love these comfortable and very practical pants. A range of colors and choice of inseams would be true perfection--and result in many more purchases of these pants by me and many others.
