I originally bought these for my wife, going with the Large (just in case she didn't want them). Well, she didn't, complaining, "I want mittens!" We were out bicycling in a light, cool, late-fall rain the other day and her hands were cold and wet (Polartec gloves). I looked at my Storm Chaser gloves (outer layer only) and said, "My hands are dry and warm." I smiled. So far, I haven't needed the inner liner. The waterproof feature is great. With the thinsulate insulation I can comfortably bicycle in 46 degrees F to 40 degrees F rain. Haven't tested them in colder temps yet. These gloves will replace my old waterproof outer mittens, which were so bulky that it was difficult to grip the brake levers. My wife is now receptive to getting either a pair of these or the mittens.

These gloves are great for keeping your hands nice and warm. They are great for when you go out in the snow. As sensitive as I am to the cold weather these have really kept my hands nice and warm.

The gloves fit well and seemed to be of good quality, but were too heavy/bulky for what I needed, so I returned them. I think they would be great for extended activity in the snow.

I have to admit I found these gloves to be very warm and comfortable on my recent ski trip which is why I'm so disappointed... Love the liner feature - I used liner and outer glove together and my hands/fingers were nice and toasty; then when I needed more dexterity, I was able to pull off the other glove & use just the liner without freezing my fingers. Getting the outer glove back on is a little fussy, but not really a deal-breaker. My issue is with the small clip that attaches the gloves together, hence the "average" review. It's fairly easy to use when clipping them together, but trying to undo the clip is extremely difficult; so much so I just won't use them anymore. My major recommendation would be to revamp the product to change to the same clip design that's already utilized on many of your other gloves, such as the rugged ridge and baxter gloves. Unfortunately those gloves don't have the liner feature, but I'll put up with no liner just to be able to clip & unclip my gloves easily... not much worse than arriving at the ski slope and realizing you only have one glove with you...

Rated 2 out of 5 by huntergage Not what I expected
Being that they have a liner inside the outside shell it is almost impossible to get the right hand glove back in. I was not happy when I was in the middle of a snow storm and could not get the outer shell back on--wet cold hands was not what I expected from these gloves. I will be returning them.

I bought them for a ski trip and wanted the removeable liner so they could dry out easier and I wouldn't have damp gloves for the next day of skiing. The first day it was in the mid-high 20's and I started skiing around 11 and my hand were quite cold by the afternoon and I had to go inside. The second day it was only 5 degrees and my fingertips were frozen after an hour and a half. My hands were the only part that were cold enough to force me to go inside and warm up.
The only advantage- they did dry out overnight with the removeable liner.

I am very happy with these gloves. They have an inner fleece glove that can be removed if wanted. I like the strap to tighten the gloves across the back of my hand. I was impressed with the quality. Very nice to shovel snow or to wear when driving in cold northern MI. I ordered a Medium and it is very true to size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by eurekabeaner good gloves, not what I needed
If I didn't already have a couple very warm insulated gloves/mittens, I surely would have kept these: fit was fine in size Small for my rather broad but short-fingered hand (in fact, my hand measures into the Medium range, but the Small was fine, and people with long-ish fingers might want to size up). Seemed like they would be very warm and comfortable, actually maneuverable, unlike some heavily insulated gloves. Alas, what I wanted was the water-proof shell with only very light lining/insulation (didn't expect to use the inner fleece glove much at all), for moderate to vigorous activities where my hands are usually too warm - until they get wet. While I wouldn't call the sewn-in insulation insert in the outer shell "heavy", it was definitely more than I wanted.

I live in the Pacific NW where it can be pretty cold & clammy in winter. I'm looking for really warm gloves to replace my acrylic knit gloves w/ suede palm & finger driving strips (no longer made), but these won't even come close. The inner glove bunches up, the outer glove alone is - understandably - too big, & together they are not as warm as my existing gloves. Although they are made for outdoor sports, I was counting on them being ideal for driving or walking, etc. They are not good even for that. Sorry!
