Rated 4 out of 5 by Crixus Silk unders are soft
I have had these silk long johns for quite a few years now. My dad got me a pair of them, knowing my tendency to hike any time of year whenever I get the chance. So these silks have been a part of my clothing arsenal for a few years, pretty much only being used on hiking/hunting trips. Prehaps that is why they are still around, I do not hike daily for a living, but if I did I would have gone through the pair. They have developed frays and a strange texture after so many washings, but they are still my go to unders for cold weather. I would only consider a smartwool/ or light wool under as an alternative to silk, but these are still my first go to.

Rated 4 out of 5 by authordale Excellent LIGHT base layer. Great pajama bottoms.
The silk will definitely wick moisture and dry quickly. I have owned two sets of this product, this being my third. Past sizes varied quite a bit, but this time it seems accurate as far as expected fit with the size I ordered. The silk will develop runs (as did women's silk stockings) and will not last as long as silk replacement fabrics, but I prefer the silk as something I can wear under another looser fitting base layer ? Recommend for sleepwear as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AllSportsMomof3 Perfect Warmth without Bulk
I bought this item for my son to wear at work outside & at college - he wears his regular jeans over these pants & stays warm. It's not easy to find clothes to keep young men warm, they are known for wearing shorts on snowy days. But these are comfy and easy to put on for those long walks around campus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by tcarrier Many Years, now need a replacement
This pant underwear though thin and perceivable flimsy is actually warm and durable. I have had my doubts so I only purchased 1 a few years ago (i wish i could remember the exact number, but at least 6 years). I would wear this under my rough work jeans to shovel during a snow storm, to work under my slacks, or even to bed during the cold evenings the furnace went out. This item was simply thrown into the regular cycle washed and dried in the same manner. Now at this year, there is a worn spot. What else can you expect, all things wear down. And I am definitely buy a couple more to replace. Certainly it is sheer in quality, but to keep in mind the product is not bulky -- just comfortable.

Light and comfortable. This is the second one I own. The first one has lasted more than five years as it began to wear off. It?s a perfect first layer to wear on daily if needed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Disappointedddd Don't bother
I was very disappointed when I opened the package. These are very thin and won't provide any added warmth, which is the entire purpose of buying long underwear. Save your time and money and don't bother with these.

I bought these for my husband and he has not stopped raving about them. He always said that his trunk was never cold, but when the wind blew, it went right through his pants legs. They are soft, non-bulky, and totally invisible under his pants. I just ordered him another pair.

Rated 2 out of 5 by aebteacher Women's silk stockings, not men's underware
Once you put it on, you realize that the material is what ladies' half-transparent silk stockings used to be made of. Don't dare to wear this into men's locker room. Beware of open fly: Slit is long, cut is low, and it has no overlap, so it just opens. Also, cuffs are thick and long. Any time you stitch two parts so drastically different in high-friction area, stitches are guaranteed to come apart.
