Rated 5 out of 5 by Tafo Versatile winter gloves
Without the fleece liner these gloves are warm enough for
commuting and pretty much everything except extreme cold. I
wear them while downhill skiing and they are warm and comfortable,
allowing sufficient mobility for my hands to grasp the poles, etc. In extreme cold I wear them with fleece liners and have been able to
ski in temperatures of 10 below zero. The exterior of these gloves
is durable so they can be used for somewhat rough activiies. Perhaps the best thing about these gloves is that they can be
worn in a wide temperature range - from the 30s to well below zero. You only need a pair of these gloves for all your outdoor

Gloves look good and fit well. Not that warm. The removable liners do not stay in place and are difficult to put on especialy when you already have one one the other hand. The the internal liner that does not come out pulled out of the pinky. It would not go back in and I gave up after 15 minutes. Returning! Thank goodness LLBean has a great return policy!

by BillinOwego Two problems
I read the reviews of these gloves before buying, and one review said get a size larger than your need. True. I measured just at the start of needing a medium. I ordered large. They still feel a little tight when I wear them with both the liners and the shells. Second problem, and it might be a show stopper for some people. When you remove the gloves when wearing with both the shell and liner, sometimes the sewn in liner inside the shell pulls out. Then the next time you put them on, the fingers in the shell liner don't line up with the fingers in the shell. You have to line up the liner and the shell fingers and this can mean it takes a while to get them on. Note I am talking about the liner that is sewn into the shell, not the fleece liners that can be worn on their own. Other than that, gloves are warm in all three ways of wearing them, and I like the palm grip with the shells when I have to go out and shovel snow.

Rated 2 out of 5 by JCMDSM These gloves are a disappointment.
My main complaint is that the linings of the gloves do not stay in place. So, when one has gone outside on a cold day and is, as he steps out into the cold, putting on the gloves, it is an annoyance that
the fingers of the glove liners are not in the proper fingers of the glove itself.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Squeena Gauntlet too narrow
I'm a woman with feminine but large hands. I've given up on buying women's gloves. I had read all the reviews and ordered an XL, and my thin but long fingers fit perfectly. I was so fixated on warmth and fit (things other reviewers complained about) that it took some time to really notice the most annoying thing about these gloves. The gauntlet is too narrow. It doesn't fit easily over my jacket, it pushes my sleeves up and leaves my wrists cold. I tried adjusting the cuffs on my coat and made them tighter, but it still didn't solve the problem. They need to be wider, puffier, not longer. I'm returning these gloves.
Also, for those of us with long fingers, a better measure for gloves would be the length from the tip of the middle finger to the base of the palm.

Rated 2 out of 5 by tdidymas Hard to put on, not well-fit
I used the size chart, my hand was 1/4" smaller than the "medium" size, so I chose medium. But the gloves are hard-fitting, it takes a lot of effort to put on. Further, the pull-string button is so hard to push it takes a weight lifter to draw the string. Material looks good, and appears to be well-insulated, haven't tried in very cold weather yet. After putting on the gloves, it is difficult to handle objects (i.e. more so than most other gloves). I should have ordered mittens instead.

I ordered these gloves for both my husband and me in 2 different sizes 2 times. We tried, but could not get a size that was comfortable.

Just got back from London where I used the gloves. You definitely have to buy a size larger which I did and they fit perfectly. The temperature was in the low to mid forties and I had no problem. The only problem is that they were a bit bulky to store when not using them.
