We put this up over our picnic table at Assateague and the wind blew it over and it popped back up many times over 2 days. We were amazed. Also is a good rain shelter.
The extra ropes with stakes made this shelter work well for us.
Mostly it serves as a shade and rain shelter but nice to know it is strong enough to withstand some wind.
It is easier to assemble with 2 people to set the last pole. Otherwise 1 person can do it all.

Rated 1 out of 5 by scottieinandover Difficult to setup and poles bend too easy
I've had this about 2 months and used about 6 times at the beach. It's not easy to put up because the poles are very long (20' guessing) and can be cumbersome on the beach. It is also very hard to stretch the tent onto the poles. I haven't figured a way to do this by myself, and I am 6'1" and pretty flexible and athletic..
The next problem is the aluminum poles bend with moderate winds (15-25mph). At first I thought one of my kids stepped on the poles during take down, but soon discovered the poles bent due to the wind after future uses.
It is very lightweight and packs up small. It does provide ample shade areas for 4 people. Material is good quality, as expected of a Bean product, but the poles bending makes me believe they aren't heavy duty enough for beach or high wind use.
I am returning the product and trying a different LL bean product. They are great about taking their products back!

Rated 2 out of 5 by maimai Too hard to assemble
My husband bought this for the beach to replace a quick pop up canopy. This was too time consuming and hard to bend the poles and stretch the canopy over it. It may be better for camping. Looked well made but I sent it back to LLBean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Archy12 Even in a storm
Very well designed. This one got caught in a high wind storm in the afternoon. Don't leave it up over night. I came back to the beach to see it completely collapsed. A mangled mess BUT very salvageable. The aluminum supports were twisted but with a little re-bending help the tent was up by the next afternoon and in perfect shape. Many on the beach could not believe we got it back in working order. It is roomy and easy to assemble once you know the sequence. Best assembled with 2 people especially if there is any wind on the beach. Light to carry. Seats 4 comfortably. If you want to lounge and spread out more like 3 comfortably. Seams are well made . It is a good buy.
