Rated 5 out of 5 by cascoutdad Inflates great
Just used it this weekend for scouting overnighter and it worked great. It's light, inflates, and deflates easy. It's also thick enough that you can't feel the ground. I can't ask for anything more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by HikersofAT Best sleep yet!
We have hiked half of the AT using self inflating pads and egg carton pads and never slept well. Now that we are car camping we decided to do something for US. This was awesome!! It was exactly like the reviews. The first minute of hand pumping the air mattress did not seem like anything was happening. Then it inflated! We slept SO well!! Thank you LLBean! Best sleep I've had while camping. It is compact to carry if you are hiking. My husband would prefer the larger one while the regular size was fine for me.

I got the large size as I'm 6'1." This was so much thicker than a discount air pad I bought at a discount store. It really is almost as good as my mattress. You don't feel the ground at all even around the hip, which is where most of the pressure/weight goes when I lay on my size.

Rated 1 out of 5 by LkPlacid Uncomfortable, not user-friendly
I am not the most experienced camper, but when a friend lent me a Nemo foot blow-up pad for camping, I really liked it. This seemed similar: lightweight, compact, easy to use and it was Bean, so I was pretty sure it would be a quality piece of equipment.
Unfortunately, after two uses, it is going back. It is not comfortable in the least. It is not easy to inflate in that the built-in hand pump takes a huge amount of time and sometimes seems to not work at all. Once you get it to where it is inflated, when it is time to go, it does not deflate entirely, no matter how much I tried, a companion tried, a few friends from around the fire tried...I wanted this to be good. It is small and light. But it is not useful at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mountedsailor Easy to inflate and plenty firm
My wife and I recently bought this to use on a three day kayak trip. She had a competitive brand which must be blown up, whereas I purchased this. After a day of paddling, using the hand pump inside this pad was much easier than having to blow up the competitor. The mattress is comfortable, one night I know there was a root but I never felt it. I bought the larger size and between that and the internal hand pump the packed size of this is bigger than normal. It is so comfortable and easy to use that it didn't diminish my appreciation for the mat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MiyataBike Best camping pad ever!
I have purchased many self inflating pads for camping. Always going to a wider, thicker, longer pad. Always a disappointment as my back and hips hurt after a night on those pricey pads. Finally I have found the perfect air mattress. It is long enough, plenty wide, and totally comfortable. Easy to set up. Easy to put back into the stuff sack. Planning a self contained bike ride this year and wanted something that will fit inside the pannier. Also did not want to sacrifice comfort. This is the product I've waited so long to find.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ackey Compact, comfortable air mattress
I was looking for a light weight air mattress that was small enough to pack in a suitcase for plane travel. This fits the bill. No heavy battery or pump needed! My 10 year old grandson tried it out while sleeping at our house and proclaimed it very comfortable. I ordered the XL for the 25" width and I found it wide enough for me. Was very easy to inflate once I realized you have to use your whole hand (as opposed to the heel of your hand) to pump it. Only took a couple minutes to inflate. As someone else stated, kind of like doing CPR. Easy to deflate and reroll. Have to roll tight to get back in storage bag but not hard to do. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MandS Incredibly comfortable and easy to inflate
My wife and I are in our early to mid-40s and enjoy hiking a lot but have just started camping. We took two of these pads on a recent camping trip in Pennsylvania & they transformed our experience of the outdoors. We both slept very well on them in weather of 30-40 degrees at night. They're really very comfortable. They're also very easy to inflate. When you first start the process, you might think they're not inflating, but they are, just a little slowly. Be patient at first. But after the first thirty seconds or so, the inflation speed seems to increase, and the whole thing is very simple. They're quite light, too, and we're looking forward to taking them on a future backpacking trip. All in all, highly recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BDVince Light and Comfortable
I've used this pad twice now, both times on backpacking trips. It comes in a very compact sack which makes it easy to pack and it does not take up much room. Getting it back into the sack after using it can be challenging though, as it is a tight fit. It is very comfortable and seems to stay inflated throughout the night without an issue. My only complaint is that it is not self-inflating, but overall I feel that it is well worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DrAlly Baby bear's sleeping pad
I never used to need a sleeping mat under my sleeping bag. I am not happy about this getting old thing. So when I finally had to buy one I purchased a cheap one, thinking anything is better than nothing. I was wrong--I think the dirt would have been more comfortable than my first attempt at sleeping pad.
So when I had to try again, I did what I should have done the first time and went to LL Bean. This thing is WAY smaller than I ever would have expected, when rolled up to travel. And it is WAY more comfortable than I ever would have expected. And it is WAY easier to set up and deflate than I would have guessed either (I handed it to the children and said "figure it out"--they did, though they did need help on the deflating end of that conversation).
So like the famous home invader Goldilocks, I declare this one JUST RIGHT.
And to back up that assessment I bought four more, for the rest of my family so I won't have to share.
