Rated 3 out of 5 by Pookie4 Shrinks badly
I bought the gray two months ago; lovely color. Sized up from med to Lg to allow room for layering. Hung to dry after each washing; after reading other comments. Yesterday I tossed it in the dryer with other laundry by mistake; it shrunk so badly, can no longer wear it. Dryer was set on low. Disappointed. It also could use another button on the bottom of the placket, too short. :(

Rated 3 out of 5 by mall90 Not as good as the original
About a decade ago, I bought one of the women's chamois shirts. I loved, loved, loved the raspberry color, the sturdy material and the roomy, relaxed fit of the shirt. In recent years, I have tried this "updated" version of the shirt. It is very disappointing if you are looking to replace one of your older shirts! The material isn't as heavy, the sleeves are significantly shorter and the body of the shirt is shorter as well. Many reviewers have left similar comments concerning this shirt. I would love LL BEan to offer this shirt in a classic "edition" model for all of us (and there are many!) who fell in love with this shirt before the updates!!!! I saw that another reviewer has suggested a Plus size version of this shirt, perhaps that would provide better coverage??

Rated 3 out of 5 by ArtGirl999 Thrilled at first...then I washed it......
The beautiful teal colored chamois shirt arrived and I was Thrilled!
The color is one of my favorites. I went on a trip that was art business- family and friends.... The shirt was my best thing to wear over a cotton knit blouse. I wore it for photos and to keep warm on the train. When I returned home the shirt needed to be washed in cold water and in a gentle dryer.... but .... so sad... it shrunk too much.
Now it fits so tightly that it is uncomfortable. The sleeves shrunk,
forget about using the buttons on the cuffs and so also did the the torso making it too snug around my middle.
This to me is strange since I have two other of these Chamois shirts from a couple of years ago. they have been washed and have a very small amount of shrinking. I am wearing one of them right now as I write this review.
So, much as I don't want to... I may have to return this shirt that I so enjoyed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Leisl Cheapened for Women
I have two LLBean Mens Chamois Shirts, and I have two LLBean Womens Chamois shirts. This womens model is a nice cut, size, shaping. It shrinks, but if you buy a size up, it turns out OK. My mens chamois shirts needed a seamstress alteration to make them fit me properly, but it was worth doing that to get a shirt of the quality and warmth that is offered to men. THE ISSUE that caused 3 stars rather than 5 is......The mens model is made of a very high quality and warm fabric and has color matched buttons. The fabric on the womens shirts is much lighter weight....shrinks more in washing...pills very badly after many washings.....(no pilling on the mens shirts with many washings).....the womens shirt is nowhere near as warm as the mens. LLBEAN PLEASE LISTEN. I read here on many other reviews that women are not happy about the cheapened chamois shirt made just for women. Please make this same style shirt with the same quality of fabric and the color matched buttons that you use for the mens model. Of all companies, you'd think that LLBean is targeting active, outdoorsy women, and would provide clothing that is equally as high quality for women as they provide for men. I can't imagine a woman who wants a chamois cloth shirt would not really appreciate the same quality of shirt that you offer to the men. Women want to be as warm as men. Women care about fabric that shrinks and pills. Women would appreciate color matched buttons more than the men do. Let's get the better quality chamois shirt for women too please?

Rated 3 out of 5 by LBLinMaine Nice, but light
It is nice - but it just won't do as an outdoor fall and sailing jacket here in Maine, unlike my old Bean chamois shirts. Those are now shabby and have been relegated to garden and woods work. They are still warmer than this one after years of wear. I would recommend for INDOOR here in Maine if your house isn't too cold and drafty. This one is nice-looking and a good length. Have not tried washing and drying it but will heed the advice of earlier reviewers about possible shrinkage. Frustratingly, the men's chamois shirts are advertised as having heavier-than-usual cloth. Thanks a lot!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Siggysmom Why can't I buy these shirts in women's plus sizes
These are wonderful shirts but every time I go to the ll bean store or online you have minimal if any inventory. You either do not order enough or they sell quickly. Both answers should tell you something. There are a lot of us who need you to understand that we are plus size and want to buy your products. Sounds like a win win if you change your strategy to include us.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mkshf Comfortable, warm
This shirt is made of thick flannel, is very comfortable, soft, and warm. The fit is roomy, so it can be worn alone (but might be a little large) or over a turtleneck (perfect fit).

Rated 2 out of 5 by jh441 Disappointing
This fabric does not have the comfort and warmth of the chamois shirts I have ordered in past years. It also shrank in size with the first washing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AnnieLo My Favourite Shirt
For me this is best shirt ever! It's warmer than flannelette, much cosier than the Corduroy Shirt and trimmer in shaping but still definitely ?relaxed?. I like the Corduroy shirt best with skinny jeans maybe because I'm 5'3" and a size 12 so proportionally it works better. But I've worn my Chamois shirt with more than one pant style and some skirts and because of the tailoring details it looks great. Even at a school meeting! And it?s a boon for those of us in our "flashing" years too. When those embarrassing sudden perspiration moments occur it never "shows". Really! Hoping L.L. Bean will offer new juicy colours soon!
Like the old "relaxed" Oxford shirts a good-looking and comfortable cotton shirt. But better. Still looking for good summer top though...

Rated 4 out of 5 by keae I very much like this shirt, BUT
Overall, I love this shirt. I do not normally dry my clothes in the dryer; however, I chose to follow the directions on this shirt and dried it. I chose low settings and it shrunk. I am so disappointed that happened. I have sent this one back for another shirt which I will HANG to dry rather than use a clothes dryer. I have purchased another one of these in a different color but haven't washed it yet. Again, it will not go in the clothes dryer.
