This is a very nice bag. But know in advance that if you use it as a regular sleeping bag you will need the bottom pad. I planned to use this bag for sleeping in my trailer. My trailer has queen beds with regular mattresses. I did not purchase the pads with the bags. I wanted to see the bag and test them before I committed the extra funds. The first night it was raining hard and the close to freezing temp made this bag feel nice. I did not use the heater and the inside of the trailer was close to freezing. After the storm passed the nights started to warm and the bag was to warm to keep zipped. We were at 4000+ alt. and it was windy. Just up the mountain got a couple inches of snow. I will use this bag as a comforter or with another bag as a layer system with out the pad. But if you want a single bag you will need the pad or something to keep your bottom warm, as there is no insulation on the bottom of this bag. Design and construction is good. I am rating this bag as good due to my use. I can not rate it excellent only because I do not believe I would be warm down to 15 degrees. I purchased 2 bags for this trip. My son was with me and he used a light summer bag inside this bag the first night. But he ran around in the rain and was freezing from getting wet with the other kids.

Rated 5 out of 5áby ReviewerID1123 Perfect for it's intended use!
This is a monster bag. It's footprint is exactly the same size as my queen size bed. It's stuff sack is large, but it packs down small enough for a convenient trip to the car; It won't go much further beyond that. The bag is perfect for car camping, cold nights at home, staying at someone else's place and not dirtying the sheets, and for impressing your friends. Inside the bag, there are pouches to stuff a pillow, or your jacket, or whatever else you may want to rest your head on. I would also guess that if you were a family of 3, you could easily fit a 3rd person in this bag - it's queen sized. Note that there is no padding or insulation of any kind on the bottom of the bag. It's sort of like a contained comforter. The back has space to put a sleeping pad. If any of this sounds like your intended use, don't hesitate!

Rated 5 out of 5áby beneL Great for car camping!
This bag is a lovely way to camp out of the car if you're a couple. Granted, you need two pads to slide into the bag and I really wouldn't use it down to 15 degrees (30 is more like it) but most of the time it's the cat's meow.
- This bag is not for backpacking- it is huge and heavy.
- However, it is warm and very easy to set up.
- Also really great for when you're staying at friends house and don't want to get their sheets dirty.
In short, it has a fairly specific use (30+ Car camping) but if that's what you do, well worth it!

Rated 1 out of 5áby shelia Does not keep you warm even at 30 degrees.
I purchased this sleeping bag for use on top of an air mattress. There is zilch for padding on the bottom of this bag so it is not comfortable even on the double high air mattress. Moving on to the more important part, it is NOT warm. It is rated for 15 degrees so the mid 30's to lower 40's I was using it in should have been a piece of cake for it. Never the less, my husband and I both woke up freezing the first night. On the second night we added 2 blankets inside the sleeping bag so we could wrap them around us and hope to stay warm. The blankets helped some, but we remained cold and woke up often feeling chilled to the bone and my husband's skin was cold to the touch (I usually joke he is like my personal electric blanket). Even upon waking on the 3rd morning with the temperature at 52 according to the car, I still felt slightly chilled. I've always been a fan of the quality of products that LL Bean sells and felt comfortable taking their word for temperatures that the products are good for. I was severely disappointed. After 3 nights filled with nothing but cold, we cut our camping trip short and left a day early so we could come home and warm up. Needless to say, I do not recommend this product and will be sending it back pronto. The only good thing about this purchase is I know LL Bean will stand behind their satisfaction guarantee and give me my money back.
