Rated 4 out of 5 by JTWchicago Maine Guide Shirt
It's a beautiful shirt. It's comfortable, fits well, looks great. But it's really more of a jacket than a shirt. The combination of the wool outer shell with a lining makes it just too warm to wear around indoors for very long. It will be great for raking leaves, bringing in wood and walking the dog in the cool fall weather.
The only drawback is that it is made with "DRY CLEAN ONLY" wool. If this shirt was only made with a comfortable heavy flannel, I would give it 10 stars.

I absolutely love this shirt. It is very warm and comfortable and fits perfectly over a hooded sweat-shirt. I don't know why I didn't order this shirt years ago. Order it, you won't be disappointed.

Simply put, I love this shirt! If you are looking for an extra warm shirt that is colorful, this is the shirt. I got this for the cold, cold days of winter. I liked it so much that I got one for my wife and my son and they too think that it is great.

I have been wearing Maine Guide shirts since the 70's as a young adult. Received my very first ones as a gift from my mother and always enjoyed wearing them. I am 6' 1" tall and weigh about 190. The large tall fits just fine with room to layer underneath, the sleeves are perfect and cover my wrists. The green plaid shirt has vibrant colors, the prima loft insulation with nylon allow the shirt to just slip on and off your arms. The wool is not scratchy, but soft. I find this shirt very, very comfortable to wear. An added plus is that the rear half of the shirt, the tail if you will, is longer by 1 inch covering your lower back and keeping you warm. The tall size is not short in the torso which I really like. If this shirt had pockets for your hands it would be the "Cat's pajamas" :) Ordered an additional one in traditional Red plaid. These shirts help make the Fall and Winter easier to deal with, while looking good !!

My daughter bought me this for Christmas and I don't know why at 58 I waited so long to get it. I love it, it's perfect for Northern Michigan, The Maine green plaid fits in Michigan, I also didn't think I'd like the perm-aloft but it adds warmth and is comfortable, perfect for camp and around the house, I've even worn it in deep winter with a sweater on walks and stayed warm but light enough I believe for the transitional months. The large is what I wear generally and it fit nice, makes me happy. Just would have liked US made but that's not just an LL bean issue.

Warm light jacket/shirt. Insulated for those cold fall hunting mornings. Very packable and good for laying under for the not so cold afternoons.

Rated 4 out of 5 Shirt that works as a jacket
This shirt could (and probably should) be listed under jackets as it is incredibly warm. I had a t-shirt on underneath it when i went out to shovel snow and had to unbutton it to keep from sweating too much. I changed t-shirts and wore it out later, and stayed warm despite the temps being in the mid 20's. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because you have to dry clean it.
