Rated 5 out of 5 by Flyfisher1newbie Fly fishing combination rod/reel
I recently purchased a Streamlite Ultra fly fishing rod/reel combination at the LL Bean Freeport store. I am brand new to the sport and wanted to talk with someone about my purchase instead of just ordering online (even though it meant paying the sales tax I otherwise would not have to pay - being from NH). I was very impressed with the salespeople's helpful demeanor and wealth of knowledge on the subject of flyfishing. Well worth the 1 1/2 hour drive, and the reasonable cost of the equipment.

Rated 2 out of 5 by buyertalk Appears Adequate for Intended Use; Some Concern
Bought line on price given that casting was not the main factor in buying line. Became concerned about the line when noticing that yellow pigment appeared to be bleeding out while winding line on reel. Not sure if I have seen pigment bleed on other lines I have owned. Used line cleaner and pigment continued to bleed. Fished with line for 4 days and pigment stopped bleeding and line appeared to hold yellow color.
Line has performed adequately while fishing so far. Will probably meet my needs but initial pigment loss makes me suspect the line's durability. Will need to evaluate line durability with more fishing time.
It is hard to answer Yes or No to recommend this line to a friend. But I'll say Yes to complete the feedback. I'd say Yes with qualifiers to a friend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by IowaFlyer Nice entry level line!
I am using this line on a Redington CT 3WT on small trout streams. I was skeptical due to the price, but I am new to the fly and knew this line would get a beating in the streamside brush so I wanted something economical. The line casts well, much smoother than I expected. It is supple, and seems to be abrasion resistant so far. This flyline is superior to the entry level offerings of the name brand flyline manufacturers line I used on my other flyrod. I believe the novice will find Streamlight II comparable to other lines costing $30 or more. When my skills justify stepping up to a higher end line, this line will still serve as a nice backup. It is an excellent flyline for the price!
