I love, love the style and fabric of this dress. I bought a stripe fabric version and snapped up the black cherry when it came out. However, this particular fabric attracts lint like crazy. Even with antistatic treatments and a lint roller, the lint and pet hair return quickly. The styling is very flattering and also works well as a skirt look with a sweater as a top. Moves easily from one season to the next. Great dress, just don't pet the cat while wearing!

This dress is one of a kind! The fabric is top quality as well as the design and make of the dress. I purchased the bright orange and it is radiant! I get a lot of compliments! Such a classy dress that will be in style for decades to come. Thanks LL. Bean!

Beautiful cut, size 4 fits very nicely (for reference I'm 5'3",122#). The color is lighter than I expected. Seems more of a plain maroon than a black cherry.

I love this dress!! The fit is perfect, and the material and quality of the dress can't be beat. I love the full skirt and it has pockets!! I would think this dress would flatter all shapes and sizes. Thanks LLBean for your attention to detail.

I was fortunate to be able to order the bright navy version of dress on sale, but, having tried it, would now consider paying full price for another version of it.
My bust/waist/hip measurements are evenly proportioned, but I have broad shoulders and am short waisted. For me, 50's style, "Lucy Ricardo" dresses are my best bet - and this one fits the bill perfectly.
It's really a gorgeous dress, one that can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. It can be worn with pearls and pumps, then sandals and a sweater; goes from work to evening perfectly. And, best of all, it's washable - but take care to treat it gently.
Bean, it would be great if you not only kept this dress, but added one with sleeves. Adapting it into a shirtwaist with a stand-up collar and a longer skirt would be excellent, too.

Rated 3 out of 5 by TrippleLB Tight bust, loose arm holes
I had been drooling over this dress for a year. I was very happy to see it at the Freeport location. I am 5'8'', 160lbs, C cup. It was very tight (tried size 12!) at the bust and I could see my bra on the sides because the arm holes were too large.
However, poplin is a perfect textile choice for this pattern. I liked that it was lined. I may have to find the pattern online!

I ordered the tricolor in size zero and it fit perfectly and draped beautifully. I wore the dress to a garden party where I received many compliments. Love the attention to detail: the snaps to conceal bra straps, the lining. I plan to order another in a different color.

I bought this dress for my daughter (age 26) in Navy and in the Navy with the red striped bottom because I was testing sizes. One was petite. They both fit her wonderfully and she usually has trouble in the bust area. A size 6 regular and an 8 petite fit her equally well and look terrific on her 5'3 slim frame. This style made even a somewhat shorter gal look longer and leaner! What a flattering dress! She has worn them for all kinds of occasions. It can be dressed up easily. It is worth the price because it's also well made. Glad to see more colors offered!

I received this dress last week, and have already worn it twice. I feel like a million dollars in this fabulous frock. Excellent quality and construction, and stunning to boot!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Reneevil Very well made but a bit off on proportions
I am a size 6P in most dresses. 5'2, 110 lbs. and in my mid 40's 32B bust and small shoulders but carry more weight in the butt & hips. I have skinny arms. I ordered a 4P polka dot dress because other reviews said ran a bit big in bust. It is a well made dress, nice fabric, hangs nice but arm holes are big and it does gap some in neckline. The bra strap holders actually make it worse, which I've never had happen. It does show my bra thru the arm holes, (I usually wear Oprah's Favorite Tisha bra) and I don't like that, but I will try a X back bra to see if that fixes the problem. I will wear a heavy pearl necklace to hold down the poofy gap in the neckline. Dress hits me mid knee, longer than model in picture, which usually I don't like but it looks very nice actually. I'm going to wear with white pumps to match the dots or brown sandals with a heel because flats with this mid knee full skirt make me look a bit dumpy but would very nice on someone younger.
