Rated 4 out of 5 by Reedobandito Good quality, great price
I ordered the poplin in classic white, and it just arrived today. Made in Peru, MOP buttons, and a back box pleat are all nice touches. However, the material is very thin, and will likely require the wearer to also throw on an undershirt. These don't fit especially slim or short, so opt a size down if you are in between sizes for a nice, trim fit. Overall, for $30, you could do a lot worse.

The Gingham Poplin Dress Shirt is a true classic with a perfect fit. Tailored, but not too slim; relaxed, yet not baggy. Great quality, made to last. Having bought the Red and Deep Ocean color, I can say they match exactly with the pictures shown. The Red color works extremely well with a pair of dark indigo jeans, as does the Deep Ocean color with a pair of chinos. A real asset, just like the whole Signature lineup

Light fabric, great colors, works with just about anything. Don't know what the other reviewers are talking about, I'm just seeing white, no beige tones, though I did get the deep ocean rather than the navy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by jonl Good suble contrast, Collar is off
Hats off to toning down contrast between navy and white. Navy and natural or nuetral is more accurate. Nice subtlety. Not overpowering for people with lower contrast coloring (light brown, dirty blonde, blonde hair)
Collar is a little too spread, large. Looks almost 70's. Model in pic looks 6 ft+. For smaller guys, might be too big.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Unrefinery It's OK.
I love the lightweight, smooth fabric, which makes it a great summer shirt. The navy gingham version wasn't quite as it appears to me on the website -- it's actually blue and beige rather than blue and white -- but it still looks great. Some issues, though. I wouldn't call it "slightly fitted"; it was really baggy on me and required a trip to the tailor to slim it down. Also, it has just about the thinnest buttons I've ever seen. It's listed as a dress shirt but I'd characterize it as strictly casual.

Rated 4 out of 5 by djohnson5 A new fit with an old fashion taste
Though this shirt does fit a bit more trim and is made with a thinner material than usual LLBean button-front shirts, it carries a new tradition with it for its wearer. The material is itself light and yet warm, perfect for any occasion. Wear it with chinos, jeans, or slacks for dress or casual wear. It fits the newer, rugged style of LLBean Signature. Highly recommended, but be certain of the size you order by using the sizing chart.

This is a great do it all shirt. I've worn it out and about as well as around campus.

I am so happy to see LL Bean making garments with more tailored fits.
This is a nice shirt in a nice, light fabric with a great fit.

I hate to say it but I was not at all impressed by the quality of the shirt. The material is quite thin, and not especially dense, if that makes sense. The tailoring is also more in line with a very casual shirt. As far as fit goes, I would saying that the fit is "a little closer to the body" is an understatement. This is a very slim fit and a complete departure for LLBean.
