My primary reason for purchasing this blanket was to be warm while sitting in my recliner during the winter. Unfortunately, while the blanket seems well constructed, it is too thin to provide much warmth. And while I do use it every day, I am often reminded of my disappointment that the blanket is so small (covers feet to waist) and thin. I would have returned the item, but after reading the fine print, I discovered there are hidden charges to do so.

I purchased this wool throw in the cedar color. I really like the color because it is as depicted--neutral colors (green, grey-blue, cream) that go with just about everything in the house. The blanket is very warm, well-made, and even much thicker than I expected. I love that it is made in the U.S. and machine washable! This throw is a little stiff to the touch right out of the mail bag but there is a note recommending to wash it first which will make it softer. I haven't washed it yet but I am sure with washing and use it will get softer. This would make a pretty nice gift. Overall, I am happy with the item and look forward to many years of use.

This is my first wool blanket after years of fleece. It is much warmer than I expected and looks good too (I have it in cedar). The deciding factor for me was that it is machine washable - haven't tried it yet, but happy to have the option.

I purchased the Blackwatch throw a few years ago and still enjoy it but wanted to purchase another since L.L. Bean is now using top rated American Pendlton Woolen Mills. I chose the cedar color and had it monogrammed. The weight and quality is excellent. Came out of the wash great, very pleased with this purchase.

I received this beautiful warm throw for a birthday gift and have been enjoying the warmth & comfort while relaxing in my recliner.. I did read some reviews about the stiffness and yes it's a little stiff... nothing that bothered me personally. I'm sure as time goes on with washing and such, the throw will be just as soft as older wool blankets. And for dog owners, expect more lap time with your dog..unless they are spoiled like my little guy :) I just bought another for him to lay on!

Rated 5 out of 5 by LoveTheClassicsLady Love ours, and they make the nicest gifts!
Ours (we own 2) have washed and worn as advertised, and reports from family (gifts) claim the same! My ONLY regret is they are no longer offered in the red, green, and beige "Holiday Plaid" (our FAVE @ home!). It would also be quite nice to see them (and other items [again] as well!) offered in another fave of ours: "LL Bean Signature Plaid"!
Again, ...LL Bean quality shines through in this attractive and durable throw, and we love the fact that they can be monogrammed/personalized!

Rated 3 out of 5 by ArtySpice weird red
I expected Fiery Red to be an orange-red, but it was an uber-intense, burn-your-retinas, version of a "classic" red. The color variation in the pic looks nice, but in person it was a gray that didn't pair well with the red.

I bought this in the natural color. It looks nice in my living room. Nice fabric, well made, really nice colors.

100% Wool and made in the USA! Yes, it's itchy, it's wool. The more you use it, the softer it'll get. I absolutely love it. Looks very much like the one displayed in the picture. It's very pretty. The fringes are finished nicely, I didn't notice anything wrong with them. Looking forward to many warm evenings on the couch with this blanket.

After all the positive reviews for the wool throw in color natural plaid, I purchased this item. It is a most disappointing purchase. The wool is so stiff, it is not wool that I have come to know. I have purchased many washable wool blankets as well as wool throws from Bean, and they were all lovely and of good quality. Not this one. Is it possible that I received an inferior batch? This one will be returned and I will be looking elsewhere.
