I do a fair amount of motorcycle based camping so a lot of my gear comes from the world of back packers as it is compact and durable.
My initial cook stove needs were to be able to cook meals in camp, not just boil in a bag type food but full meals. So I had shopped around and settled on the MSR Dragonfly liquid fuel stove. I liked the ability to be able to refill fuel bottles and always have a full one for each trip. The stove performed as well as stated, would simmer or boil and everything in between, but it was LOUD! The kind of loud that just wrecks the tranquility of camping. I also seemed to have issues with fuel leaks from time to time.
So I used LL Beans unbeatable satisfaction guarantee and returned the stove in favor of this new Windpro II. I have only had a chance to cook on it a few times but I found it to be just as adept at cooking as the Dragonfly only much quieter. The remote tank line, ability to invert bottles to maximize flow and use, and the ability to use a windscreen seem to make this stove a winner.
Yes I would recommend this stove to someone who is looking to do more than just boil water, quietly.
