I had not been able to find a pair of jeans that I felt were comfortable for quite a few years, until I decided to give these a try.
I am SO happy that I ordered these jeans! They are the perfect fit for me. I don't like clothes that are too tight, but too loose can give me a sloppy look. These jeans are comfortable, soft, and they fit beautifully. Comfortable from top to bottom.
I would prefer a petite length of 29". At not quite 5'4" I find that the regular length is much too long. The petite length works for me, but I could do with another 1/2" or so. That's a niggling small detail when compared to the over all pleasure of these jeans.
I ordered a second pair right away. These are my new, favorite, go-to jeans and my only hope is that they will never be discontinued!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Caper8 Love love love these jeans!
Jeans are so individual. For reference, I am a somewhat overweight hourglass (not a pear) who carries the extra pounds in the hips and thighs, and these jeans are perfect. I am 5'7", short waisted and proportionally longer in the leg, and ordered the medium tall. No way could I wear the regular in these jeans - the MT are barely long enough to wear with clogs, and could be worn with flip flops. The fabric is very soft (like some old favorite well worn jeans) and the fit through the hips and thighs is very flattering on my body type. I can see why someone without thunderhips/thighs might not like these. I totally love these. Stay with your true size unless you want them snug - I ordered my regular size and one size smaller - both fit, but I like the fit of my true size better and they fit longer because they are looser. Thrilled with these new jeans!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by LLBNY Stretches out and sags, tricky sizing
I purchased these jeans in my size and when I tried them on, they fit me beautifully. I put them on the next morning and by the end of the day, they were very stretched out and sagging. I exchanged them for a smaller size and those were too snug at the waist. They eventually stretched out, but not enough to relieve the discomfort of wearing them. Needless to say, the second pair was returned, too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by oregonfam Tricky to get the Size right
This is not L.L. Bean's fault - it is just tricky to find the right size jeans online. I will be exchanging these jeans for a different length and size. The quality is wonderful, the material soft yet sturdy and very comfortable, and the back does not open up or bulge when you bend or squat down. I love the straight leg opening - it's perfect. The back pockets are roomy and I love that they are plain and do not have any bedazzling or thick thread or anything trendy on them. The jeans do seem to run a bit big, so I am exchanging them for a size smaller, and will also order the regular/misses instead of the petite. I am normally a petite in L.L. Bean (I am 5'4"), however in these jeans petite was too short. I am hoping the regular/misses will be just the right length, because I love everything else about these jeans. If I can just get the size right! :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by urbannature Follow-Up on 1912 Jeans
In my earlier review I said the jeans were "slightly" large. Since I washed them again, I have decided they are indeed a size too large-loose all over. I look for a trim fit, but was willing to accept a larger cut in the thighs for better quality. However, I wish I had bought these jeans in a size 10. Hope this is a help in sizing. Still like the jeans.

I really enjoy these jeans. WHEN is Bean going to make this pant in corduroy for women??? I see in the 2013 fall catalogue that these pants came in gorgeous fall/winter colours for men. Why not for us girls. I have the Saturday cords from 2 years ago but really want 1912 Cords for Women. I hope you're listening Mr. Bean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by urbannature Comfortable, look fine
I ordered according to size chart and expected these to be a smaller size 12. To my surprise, the jeans ran somewhat large. I'm between sizes, so when they shrank a bit in first wash, it improved the fit. I'm 5'6" and wear my jeans long, and the medium tall length was fine. These were close to perfect but for slightly loose fit and slightly too light-weight denim. Still, a nice looking, comfortable pair of jeans. I would buy these again in the same size.

The length does not shrink. The fit through the hips and thighs is perfect when you first put them on. As you wear them, they start to bag out. Washing and drying helps, but I am going to have to alter them as I wear them work. A classic fit at the waist would be much better. The pockets are very short in depth.

I love these jeans! A little bit of stretch. Waist is in just the right spot. Petite is perfect length for me. I've tried other styles but keep coming back to this one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by SolarFarm Very Disappointing
I've bought LL Bean jeans for years, and they've always fit perfectly--until now. Petite, low rise, stretch denim, boot cut jeans have always been my favorites, and even though styles have changed slightly over the years, I always knew that I could find those jeans in the size 4 Petite that would fit perfectly. But now this is the only style available in low rise, and the fabric and fit are nowhere near as good as the many pairs of jeans that I've bought over the years. This fabric stretches out, causing the jeans to be so baggy that they fall down. The fit is so loose and baggy that they don't look good and aren't comfortable, and the fabric doesn't have the quality of the stretch denims that I always bought in the past. Low rise is labeled as being the "Favorite" fit, so I don't understand WHY there's only one style available in low rise and many styles available with higher waists. I've worn out two pairs of stretch denim boot cut jeans, and I have two other pairs that I've saved for "dress up" jeans. So now I'm down to these 1912 jeans for work, and they simply don't measure up. The fabric and fit are very poor quality compared to the other LL Bean jeans that I've always loved, and now I'll be forced to look elsewhere to find petite size jeans that have good quality and fit. LL Bean, I really wish you'd once again carry good quality stretch denim boot cut low rise jeans. I always counted on you for jeans that would be well-made and would fit just right, but now that's no longer true. I hope in the future you'll carry a better selection of low rise jeans.
