Overall solid/high quality and good looking backpack, and I like the fact that it is American made. My one nit is with the buckles- they seem out of place. I can't quite put my finger on it but they seem a little cheap/non authentic as compared with all the other elements.

I'm a very long time (25 years) LLBean customer. Shoes, shirts, coats, furniture and previous backpacks-- all from LLBean.
This backpack which is from their "Signature" Series (i.e, supposedly top of the line?) cost $225.00. For those dollars for a backpack (normally $60-80.00) you would expect (demand?) exceptional quality and style, and a good feeling of supporting American Made goods and LLBean employees and their craft.
But not so. This stylish looking backpack has little to no functionality. There are no interior pockets; only two side pockets. There is no place to hang keys, earbuds, or to store or protect a computer, a tablet, a passport --nothing. Just one large interior pocket.
Worse, after only two days of low-impact use, the leather holders guiding the chords on the front, broke loose from the canvas. Ugh.
I have already sent it back. A very short honeymoon.
Signature Series? Really?

Honestly - how hard is it to just sew a sleeve along the back wall for a laptop? Why do the nice looking bags have to be the least functional. It doesn't really even have to be a padded compartment. Would make the bag so much more versitile... and when not carrying a laptop, the sleeve just fits against the interior back - you don't even loose and room inside.

by Dissapointedstudent Stylish Pack/Poor Construction
Though the backpack looks fantastic, the quality of the $200 backpack is rather poor. When I received it, the entire interior around the zipper had loose threads hanging off of it. I went ahead and trimmed the threads, and not a day later there were more. Every other day I use the backpack now, I have to trim the threads. I bought the bag hoping it would last me through undergrad and law school, but now I'm just hoping it will survive the year. Again, the pack looks great and overall seems to be constructed well, but the lack of care on the details is worrying.

Great backpack for those who are interested in a stylish look. It looks great, but is much more expensive than other backpacks with the same function. Speaking of function, I can't figure out what the two leather strips with slits are for. But they look cool!!

by motosacto Weak product
This product is a disappointment. The canvas and leather seem to be good quality, but the construction is poor. The canvas edges that are sewn to the zippers are not taped, so they started fraying the first day I used the backpack. The zippers are under-specified for a supposedly rugged product. The buckles that connect the shoulder straps are not strong enough to carry a real load, and they dig into my ribs when I load up the backpack.
If you want a fashion backpack that you'll load lightly, then this product should be fine. If you want a durable outdoor backpack, I recommend you look elsewhere.

I bought this item for my son's upcoming birthday. I am extremely pleased with the quality and detail. I believe this backpack will last for years and years.

This pack is made of the nicest pieces of leather and canvas I have seen in a while. The leather base is thick, the canvas soft but solid. The zippers are very smooth and the leather straps comfortable. This is just what you think it will be and probably won't realize it's full potential for 1-2 years after that leather base is broken in. Hope to pass this down to my son...
