Rated 5 out of 5 by huntfishhikeboat They don't leak !!!!!!!!
Waders need to keep you dry. many don't ! These certainly do. Also well designed for ergonomics and plain old comfort. The gravel guards pop off time to time, the knee needs a little more room, but this is minor>>>>>DRY<<<< is the key word. The biggest PLUS is Bean's eagerness to replace them in short order if they do leak. Many of my fishing buddies have gone to bean for this reason ! I considered going w/ a popular brand(Gray color). My correspondence w/ them showed actual warranty repair/return time to me may be a month or more in the busy season. NOT acceptable when the bite is on !

LLBean Waders don't seem to be designed for tall normal weight people. In order to get the right sized stocking foot, you have to buy huge chest sized waders which are very bulky and baggy.

My review will only comment on fitment, I am 6' 0" with 32" inseam, 34 inch waist, 10.5 shoe. I purchased the large. The bootie fit is fine and the waist is fine. The crotch is way off, way too tall by 1.5" minimum, I could live with it but when I threw the straps over my shoulders and fully cinched them down the cross piece between the should straps hit me in the back of the neck. Returning.
I would also add that these were a replacement to the Wicked tough waders bean made several years ago which failed after about a dozen fishing trips over several years. Light service and the taped seam in the bootie failed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mac59 watert-tite great fit nice pocket & inside pouch
i ordered these in a husky because the regulars in a large were sold out,i left them in my shopping cart too long and then the sale hit. the sizing chart for regular large is the same for husky medium.that worked out well, Im 5-8 175 lbs. these have 2 pockets directly in front of the bib one in front of the other with the back one being zippered on each side, the nice feature is an inside pocket with a velcro closure, great to hold some cash, license and keys(not water tite) The waist belt adjusts nicely, pull back velcro, easy on & off.Cince cord at top assure less chance of water sneeking in in the event of a fall.Shoulder straps have nice adjust & comfortable fit. Would be nice to have side pockets for extra tackle & a waterproof camera.Overall great product.Just spent 3 days in Pulaski for the salmon run.Paired with the studded wading boots with the dial closure-no laces-fantastic OCTOBER 2013.Wasnt worried about not working well or retuning, because the company has fantastic customer service.SATISFACTION GUARANTEED-NEVER AN ISSUE HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS COMPANY!

Rated 5 out of 5 by fishbreath great waders
Light in weight but with rugged construction, and comfortable to wear. I've had them out 4 times in the 10 days since purchase and don't have anything but superlatives to say.
I've paid a lot more for big name waders with limited guarantees and there are 3 leaky pairs of them hanging in the garage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Logger110 Great pair of waders
I bought these back in February and use them about 3 or 4 times a week since the water has been tolerable to stand in. I bought a size large and they are very roomy so I can slip on a pair of sweat pants for some extra warmth. The waders come with two belts a normal one and a larger belt that is used for back support... I don't even use the small one...the elastic belt has kept me dry when slipping down a bank and falling in the water...best idea ever. By far the best waders I have ever bought. I would definitely recommend these to everybody

Rated 4 out of 5 by striperslayer Great for the price
I got these a few weeks ago and have been putting them to the test in the cold water of New England tidal rivers in March. They are not neoprene so not the warmest but there is plenty of room to throw on some extra clothes underneath. I previously had the Rapid River waders which are very similar but had to retire them as I burned a small hole in them smoking on the ride to fishing spot! (freakin dope!} Anyways, there are a few differences between these and thge Rapid River waders, 1 of which I love which is the 2 zippered pockets on the outside which gives you more storage which is a great thing! The other is the inside pocket which I actually prefer the Rapid River waders for as it was a mesh pocket with zipper and that pocket was a little bigger. These waders have a nylon pocket with velcro and my big cellphone doesnt quite fit in there. Other then that the wader belt is also different and these have a MUCH better easily adjustable belt. All in all I love these waders and with the LLBean warranty they cant be beat for the price!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Brntrout Helix Waders
I have only used these waders for 2 days so I do not have a lot of info to share at this time.
I had returned 2 different pairs of the Rapid River Waders for leaking problems and felt that I needed to try something different at this point. Upon opening and looking at these new waders I have the following observations.
1. They do not feel as sturdy as the Rapid River Waders and I am concerned about the long term durability.
2. It comes with 2 "wading belts", one that is this large elastic belt that is suppose to give you lower back support. Quite honestly I will never use this. the second one is your standard web style belt. What I found disappointing is that the wading belt that came with the lesser priced Rapid River waders was a better belt than this one. Wish I could have kept the old one when I returned the leaky waders.
3. The gravel guards are huge. They do not fit snuggly around my ankles with my wading boots on. They appear to be made for someone with very large ankles and not the average person.
In all fairness to the review. I VERY MUCH APPRECIATE the LL Bean return policy, they certainly stood behind their products on two occasions and exchanged my leaky waders with no questions asked.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Trev Helix II Waders
I purchased these waders based on friends' experiences with the Helix waders. I must admit I almost didn't bother to try these waders on with as thin and un-firm the hand was. These remind me of ultralight waders meant for minimalist/budget minded consumer, not serious, bushwacking fisherman. I feel confident I would tear these to sheds on a modest excursion, let alone a death march into the bush in search of secluded water. I did try them on inside and they were cut very well and look pretty snazzy, but I just couldn't get past how flimsy, thin, and just not the same hand that were the old Helix waders and my previous Simms G4 Pro's. My search for quality waders at a fair price continues unfortunately... L.L.Bean service was outstanding as expected though!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by FloatFishingConnection Needed to upgrade
I purchased these, used them for three days and then returned / upgraded them to the "Helix" waders. I was disappointed in two areas: 1. The seams around the perimeter elastic at the bottom of the pant legs started to pull out and unravel within one outing. 2. This likely won't change with the next pair I receive, but the way the neoprene boots are stitched/designed they don't give much in the way of room over the top of the foot at almost the ankle bend. I was able to wear a fairly thick pair of merino wool stocks and still fit, but I doubt whether I'd be able to ever wear two. I could feel the seam across the top of my foot when I first put them on, but once they were in my boa boots, the "tightness" seamed to disappear (thankfully). I wear a size 10.5-10.75 shoe and I chose to get the size large waders which are designed from 10-12. I tried my buddies waders on that are the XL and have the larger neoprene bootie size and it wasn't much better but the overall wader was huge comparably.
