Rated 5 out of 5 by Mattc70 Perfect for winter hikes!
I walk/hike year around, mostly urban and thru local park trails. These were the perfect combination in temperatures from 0'F to 30'F. They keep my feet warm and most importantly-DRY. If you are looking for the best all-around winter hiking sock, look no further-they dominate. Pair them with Gore waterproof hiking shoes and you can go all day.

This is a multi use Hiking Sock... I can wear these as a comfortable slipper sock or in a boot/hiking shoe. Con, priced on the higher side for an item such as this!

A lot thicker and heftier than they appear on the website, which is definitely a good thing. Good socks are hard to come by; these are great socks!

I bought the socks for my guy who had never worn wool socks. Even during the cold snaps we have been having, they are helping keep his feet warm. He says they are comfortable too.

These socks are very comfortable, don't itch, are warm (I can kick my slippers off) and I can were them for a couple days before they need washing. I will wear them for hiking when the weather warms!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by nicster33 Not a hiking sock, not a trail running sock?
What kind of sock is this supposed to be? It is too thick for a trail running sock and it is too small for a hiking sock.
Plus, while other top names make an organic wool hiking sock, Cresta still makes a conventional, toxic wool sock.
I will go elsewhere for socks.

The XL size is very comfortable for larger feet. My feet are size 12, which isn't extreme or anything, but it still makes a difference.
The socks themselves are very nice. Besides being comfortable, they're heavy duty in the right areas.

I wear the quarter length socks most of the time because my calves are too big for regular socks and stretch them out quickly. I have worn smartwool and Dahlgren socks for years. These are better than the smartwool and as good as the Dahlgren. This is my first couple of pairs so can not comment on the durability but I wear them regularly and will know before too long. They are very comfortable and warm. I was outside at about 0 degrees and my feet did not notice at all.
