I've had these for about a week now. I walk about 2 miles a day to and from work from public transit. I love these. They are supportive but soft. I don't come home with sore feet anymore. I opted for the wider size given my giant feet, though I typically wear normal sizes. They are perhaps a little big (size 13), But I kind of like that my feet are locked into them. They are by no means so big that my feet move around. The leather is super high quality. I haven't seen issues with the soles yet, but I've only have them for a short time. I figure with Bean's guarantee if there's a problem I can swap them out. I'm looking forward to a harsh winter with these boots.

I liked the first pair so much that I bought another pair. I wear size 7 1/2 Mens' but I bought size 8 because these run small -- probably becuz of the shearling lining which is WARM and WONDERFUL.
I only wish this Chukka came in WIDE sizes - my big wiide feet would appreciate the extra room-- I can only wear thin socks with these chukkas but with the shearling lining I do NOT have cold feet.
The laces #leather# leave much to be desired. They WILL break eventually and they do not stay tied. I had to buy aftermarket laces.

These boots are ultra lite (a pair of these weigh less than one of my previous boots), but are tough and feel perfectly broke-in the first time you put them on. The soles are terrific, they aren't stiff and give good traction, but are also very quiet.

This will be the third pair we are ordering. This is my husbands favorite shoe. They last about 3 years. He wears them everyday. He is a hard working farmer, so they are put to the test. The sole wears thin after three years, never the upper. Could probably have them resoled. They are very comfortable from day one. I don't think changing the sole would be a good idea, as this is one of the features that makes them so comfortable.

I have been buying these boots for my son for the past 3 years. He averages 2 pair a year, not because the boot wears out but because the sole wears out and unevenly. Why can"t LL Bean design a sole like a lug sole that would wear longer and better for these boots. My son has to wear an orthoic, has weak ankles, and has a high end step which makes it hard for him to find shoes that are fashionable and comfortable. These boots fit the bill and he loves them but @ over a hundred dollars a pair you would think they would last longer than 6 months. But the soles DO NOT wear well or last any length of time. Please Bean fix the soles on these boots, several others are having the same problem. PLEASE Bean fix these boots for your customers happiness. We love the boot but not the sole.

These really are a great product. The quality of the upper section of the boot is what I'd expect from L.L. Bean, however the sole is the problem. Whatever compound that was used wears too quickly, and is incredibly slippery when wet. My pair was void of any tread under the ball of the foot in just 6 months, even when just worn as my office shoes. L.L. Bean did honor the guarantee and has replaced them, with that in mind, I would still recommend them, if the second pair wears out just as quickly, can always just return them again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BlueFlame Pretty good, could use better rubber sole...
My old leather shoes were wearing out so it was time. I'd been eying theses for quite a while. Finely decided to get them. I procrastinated do to the price. But with $40 of LLBean coupons, it became affordable.
My only concern is the sole seem a little slick. I've not slipped yet. But it feels like it could. A rubber sole with a tread pattern for walking and indoors would be better than the mock-hiking.

I read a lot of reviews before buying them. I bought them a half size bigger. We spent 12 days in Hokkaido Japan hiking. Temperature averaged 15-25 degrees F, with wind chill sometimes making it a lot colder. The boots exceeded my expectations and best of all, my feet stayed warm and dry, even when snow was shin deep. We walked an average of 3 hours a day, and the boots took an hour to break in, which I thought was great.

The title explains itself. I ordered this on a Sunday, and the delivery time range was between 5 - 7 business days. The shoes came in a day earlier. I was pretty surprised, and I was ecstatic to try them on! Kudos to those workers and L.L. Bean's shipping and delivery service!

Rated 5 out of 5 by GreatLaker Incredible luxury!
When I slipped my foot into the plush, soft, warm shearling lining of these chukkas, I couldn't believe the comfort. It combines the unrestricted feel of a sneaker with the traction and support of a boot. The multi-toned leather makes for a look that works equally well walking the dog or at the office. The pebble-grained bison leather is truly soft and pliable, conforming naturally to the foot almost immediately, sort of like a fur-lined moccasin. I told my wife, "This is more luxury than I deserve."
