Rated 5 out of 5 by 78123 Great feel - great value
I now own several of the cotton/cashmere sweaters in various colors
and neck styles. What a great sweater - the feel is like a true cashmere sweater. I was somewhat skeptical after reading some earlier negative comments regarding the piling. I have washed them all several times (laying them flat to dry!) and still no matting or piling. GREAT value! I would and have recommended this item to friends and family!

I purchased four of these sweaters and after wearing each twice they are ready for the trash. I have never had sweaters that were so matted with thick string and balls of knit. They are so bad that there is no way you can pick all of the matted strings and balls off of the sweaters. I purchased four other cotton/cashmere sweaters for half the price at a national clothing store and those sweater still look new. This was my first and last time I will buy from L L Bean if this is the quality of their products.

Rated 3 out of 5 by DSToronto Great look, feel and fit, but pills very quickly
I was extremely happy with everything about this nicely designed comfortable sweater (as I have been with almost all my L.L. Bean purchases) but after wearing this one only a few times, it began to pill quite noticeably. I don't think it's supposed to, but mine did.
Perhaps the small percentage of cashmere is the culprit, in which case the sweater would be more serviceable without the cashmere, but perhaps not quite as soft to the touch.

The quality in this sweater is excellent. My husband loves it and the fit is true to size. It washes well and always looks flattering.

My husband is 6'4" and about 215 lbs. He wears L or L Tall in just about everything. I got him three of these sweaters. After reading the other reviews regarding the fit being snug, I decided to get XXL Tall.
The fit is ideal over a dress shirt, not too snug. But the Tall is actually a little too long in the body. He folds it at the waist. So unless you are over 6'6" the regular would be fine.
I have laundered all three and they came out of the dryer still soft and without shrinkage. The weight is perfect for indoor dress wear or under a sport coat. This is a great bargain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Goodhue A Wonderful Lightweight Sweater!
Recently wore my new clover,Cotton/Casmere sweater to a holiday gathering and was surprised at how many people mentioned how nice the sweater looked. As soon as I put it on,over a long-sleeved shirt,I loved it. It feels great and fits perfectly. While it did the job of keeping me warm outside in 45 degees,it wasn't too warm inside. Not only do I highly recommend this lovely sweater to others, but I just ordered two more, in Deep Azure and Royal Purple. Can't go wrong with this beauty!

Looks great with a shirt w/ a button down collar. Very soft. Well made.
The amazing thing about this sweater is that you don't get overheated.
Looking at the purple one now.
Destined to be an LLBean best buy.

Rated 2 out of 5 by intherainforest Looked great at first, but disappointing quality
I purchased the purple colour. It felt and looked great at first and the fit was true to size. Unfortunately, the sweater pilled the first time I wore it. I also noticed a couple of different colour stitches on the front of the sweater.
It's a pity because I was thinking of purchasing other colours, but the pilling has put me off.

I prefer lighter weight sweaters, this is perfect for wearing over a T-shirt. I have found that even washing in cold water this sweater does shrink slightly. If a person is going to wear something heavier than a T-shirt under this sweater I suggest going with one size larger.

I've given up on 100% wool sweaters--no matter how many moth balls I add to the storage boxes over the summer the moths just destroy them. But the cotton-cashmere blend has the look of wool, is quite warm enough for this climate and does not attract moths because the cashmere content is only 5%. A good buy, a great shade of blue and my husband likes it. All around, a win!
