My impression is similar to other reviewers - the material is very thin, even more so than a 'regular' cotton undershirt; they are sized quite short; they pill and do not feel soft to the touch. Simply not worth the money.

I am confused because I do not understand the negative reviews for these shirts. I think they are great. I like the fit and the look of them. I wear them for working out hiking and undershirts when it is cold. They are great for all these uses. They are fantastic for hiking because they wick moisture so well and dry so quickly. Honestly I can not say enough good about them.

At the start, it was a great, comfortable t-shirt. But then, it started to wear very quickly. It pills all over, and costs too much for the lack of durability that it has.

Rated 2 out of 5 by OnlyOnce Short on size & value.
The fabric is fine if you're okay with lightweight. Sizing runs small and the length is at least two inches too short. If you get it tucked in, it's not going to stay there. LL Beans regular T is a better value and a better fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DKNCCA so close, but missing the mark
please, tell me why this line of wonderfully confortable, cool t-shirts isn't offered in any more than the limited line of four colors, and why it isn't offered with a chest pocket ... no, better yet, please just get it done, i'd love to buy more but i already have multiples i need colors and pockets!

I have several issues with this product. The material on the white T-shirt is so thin that skin tone is clearly visible through the shirt. The shirt itself feels a bit abrasive against the skin. The stitching on the outer seams of the shirt look amateurish at best. Value is completely lacking in this shirt. There are far better products on the market that deliver better performance and value. I have been shopping at Beans for over 30 years and have never been so disappointed in the lack of quality of the materials in a product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by DaveEA Not impressed, Carefree Unshrinkable Tee is better
Purchased XL Red Ochre; found sizing small compared to Carefree Unshrinkable Tee (CUT), material is rougher and thinner than CUT (similar to a recycled cotton tee I once had), I highly recommend the CUT and you'll save a bit of money in the process!

A great shirt for those who walk, work, or live in a warm climate. I took this shirt to Italy where it can get up to 110 degreese and stayed cool and dry. The only thing I would change is giving .5 inches more room in the chest. Other than that no problems.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Geotrekker Inconsistent size between long and short sleevee
Bought 2 of these shirts in L/S Large last winter and loved the fit and feel, so I bought 2 more in S/S Large. Noticed on first wearing that they felt tighter across shoulders. Measured both L/S and S/S along seam from neck to shoulder and found L/S was indeed 1/2 inch longer on each side. Not too tight, just a noticeable difference. Will order XL for S/S in future.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Greatdog04102 Beware -- not the same shirt it was last year
I fell in love with the pathfinder t-shirt when if first came out -- fit well, kept me cool, and softened with every wash. However, when I bought some more in March 2012 what I got was a different shirt. The code number had changed and apparently the manufacturer as well--the shirt was nothing like the original pathfinder -- scratchy (even after a couple washes) with a completely different fit.
