I have a Leatherman Wave which is what I'm comparing this against. The Wave costs $85 so it might not seem like that's a fair comparison, but my complaints about the LL Bean Micro-Tool have nothing to do with its quality but rather with the overall design.
I bought this tool to keep in my car and the first time I used it I was fairly disappointed. First of all, it doesn't close into a compact shape. You'd think it would close into a nice little rectangle, but the bottom kind of bows out so that the it's a little trapezoidal when it's closed (you can see this in one of the pictures). Not a big issue, but it mattered to me.
The main issue is that it's very difficult to open individual tools on the handle. I think there are 4 tools on each handle. If you want to open one of the middle tools, you need to open the tool closest to the edge first. The knife is one of the tools on the edge, so when I wanted to open the scissors, I had to have the knife open first. I was a little afraid that I was going to cut myself opening the scissors.
If this tool was $10 - $15, I'd be more likely to overlook the design flaws. At its current price, it's not a good deal.

This was a gift. A great micro-tool that should get plenty of use. Love the added LED.

The tool works as advertised except the thumb nail indent for the scissors is on the wrong side so it requires you to open the blade to get to the scissors.

Well made-however packaging did not reflect the size of the closed tool. Too bulky. If asked by a friend I would say quality was good but the item is bulky.

i went to llbean headquarters in Maine to look for multitools and i found this. at first it seemed good. i had a choice between a swiss army knife or this or a $30 letherman. i chose this not thinking correctly. the spring loaded pliers sound cool but when you close the multitool, it is still kind of open. as many others have said, all the tools are hard to access. i found that true but the nail file was the easiest tool to open. the knife came incredibly dull and i had to sharpen it with my smith handheld sharpener. the flashlight is okay but was confusing to open. and the scissors were bad and you could only open them after opening the knife. this was a waste of $25. DO NOT BUY

too tiny and too difficult to open the tools which are marginal at best...not worth the postage to return it.
Not a fishing tool which I asked for.

Although it is primarily intended for small, emergency jobs, this little tool is very handy to carry in your fishing vest or tackle box, the glove compartment of your car, or in your boat or canoe. Small but mighty!
