Rated 5 out of 5 by Maine51A Durable roomy
Took our first trip of the season to Moosehead Lake. We had unseasonably cold weather and high winds with gusts to over 35mph. The tent held its' own and then some. Although I am not a fan of Velcro it does work well to hold the poles in place etc. Well worth the investment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by CamoTuto Only one flaw in the design of this tent.
I started to set the tent in in my garage. I had it all up except putting the fly on. I noticed that that tent had a screening and not no see'm mesh. Camping in Northern Maine for spring fishing it is a must to have a comfortable insect free night.
I returned the tent an replaced it with my second choice. Except for the screening I preferred the Northwoods 6 person Cabin Tent. The upright poles were aluminum poles were stout and are a first choice for me. L.L. Bean exchanged the tent for with no problem.
I have never returned any product to L.L. Bean before. The ease of the exchange and the refund of the difference in price made it a pleasure to do business with them. The replacement was at my house in MA the day after it was shipped. Use this tent any where that no see'ms are not a present and this looks like a Five Star Tent.
L.L.Bean will be my go to place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by grancamper roomy, comfortable and easy to use
we traded in a dome tent for this one as we needed more room for cots, the older we get the more comfort we need. it is easy to set up with 2 people. it withstood 2 rainstorms, regular ones, and fit our cots with room to spare. it is heavy to carry, the poles really add to the weight and the screening is regular, but that was not an issue for us. It was warm when closed up in the northern woods, which was good. the side pockets are a bit weird as all pockets start at the bottom so if you use the long one it may be difficult to retrieve things. we liked the built in loop for a lantern at the top. I would wonder if it keeps dry in a severe storm as the fly does not come all the way down as in a dome tent. but we really liked this tent. we got the footprint as well and it worked great. no color coding, but none needed. we set this up in the dark the first time without to much trouble. I would recommend to any family or grand parents for family camping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by nmarc Well Tested Tent
We have just returned from an extended camping trip throughout Colorado including mountains, plateaus and slick rock canyons. This tent was great. We were impressed with the roominess for the two of us, plus the dog and our stuff. I really enjoyed that at 6' tall I could stand up and walk around the tent. The tent was tested with rain storms nearly every night including one day of thunderstorms for over 5 hours. With the optional foot print, we stayed nice and dry. This tent was a breeze to set up and take down. I'd really recommend it for car camping. yet another great L.L. Bean product and purchase.

Im 60 years of age. I just want to say this tent is best tent that I purchased. When I read other reviews and that this is water proof tent I was sold on it. I did say to myself "if i see one drop of water its going back. Just a few weeks ago the tent was put to the test and pass with flying colors. We had some down poured like cat and dogs and not one drop of rain. Condensation will occur and that to be expected.

Rated 3 out of 5 by CarCamper12 Will keep you dry, but poles often bend/break
I have mixed feelings about this tent. It is almost engineered too well. It has always kept us dry, but the design of the tent keeps the poles at such a high rate of tension that they have broken on us twice. Of course, LLBean will send you a replacement if you ask, but if it happens once more I'm going to return this tent for another model. Again, I'm a loyal LLBean customer, and appreciate their customer service, but the quality of a tent should not be determined by the manufacturer's return policy.

We took this tent on our very first camping trip since kids and it suited our needs perfectly. It was large enough for two adults and two small kids with extra room to spare. The tent was easy to construct, but took us a few extra minutes to do it on site because we hadn't set it up for practice in advance. I liked the storage pockets in each corner and clip to hang light in the center of the ceiling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by VESRS1 Best tent in the rain
We have used this tent for two camping trips so far, both of which rained about half the time. And by rain, I mean monsoon-like rain. This tent kept us completely dry with only the walls getting condensation on them (which happens in all tents even on nights when it doesn't rain). With two air mattresses and a large dog bed in the middle we had plenty of room for us and gear. I'm not sure it could really sleep 6 comfortably but it is the perfect size for 3 or so. We also purchased the LLBean footprint to accompany it, it is so much better than any tarp that I've used with other tents. The large windows provide more than adequate ventilation when they are able to be opened (not raining). There is also a tremendous amount of head room, it's nice not having to duck when you're going in and out and getting dressed. I also love the side pockets for extra storage of frequently used items and the hook on the roof for a small lantern to light the tent. It is also really simple and quick to set up, just make sure that if you're not tall you bring something to stand on to put the rain fly on. I'm 5'8" and needed to jump to reach the pole to attach it. I would highly recommend this tent, as I would with so many of LLBean's products. We have two more camping trips planned this summer and I can rest easy knowing that no matter what the weather is like, we will be comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kentuckian Just what I wanted
This is a splendid tent for campground camping. It replaces a Hettrick 10x10 that my family has used all over the US for the past 40+ years. Although slightly smaller in footprint, it has more space than the Hettrick (due to its near-vertical sides) and about half the weight and volume. I looked a long time for a family tent with no mesh ceiling with no success until LLB introduced this one. Tried one with mesh and couldn't seal it against the night cold. This tent is really tight again the elements when buttoned up, yet has large windows on all 4 sides when ventilation is desired. Absolutely no sign of leaks in rain, nor do I expect any, it is so tight. The footprint that we bought with it clips to the 4 corners of the tent -- nice. We also bought a cheap 8x10 green tarp for the inside to protect the floor. Haven't tried erecting tent in dark but would expect it to be difficult. This tent is a winner and should be around for a long time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by CarCamper12 Got us through a thunder storm
We are car campers, so the weight of this tent (when packed) didn't bother us. It has a very upright design which adds plenty of height. This helps keeps the walls dry from the rain (because they stand up nearly perpendicular to the ground). Plenty of room inside. Zippers are strong and don't get stuck in the wall/door fabric. Our first night in it, we made it through a two hour thunderstorm with no leaks--only a little condensation inside the walls.
The only reason we give it four stars is that it is hard to assemble unless you are at least 5'10''. If no one in your family is that tall, bring a step stool or a bucket to stand on.
