Rated 5 out of 5 by KansasKingfisher Light, simple and dry
This tent is very light, compact and simple to pitch. It was purchased for a three-day canoe trip on the St. John River in Maine that unfortunately was terminated at noon of the first day due to rain, cold and dangerously high water. Of the five campers, I was one of only two who stayed completely dry that first night. The only downside was in my haste to break camp in a miserable cold rain, I pulled out the tip of the spreader bar which I only discovered upon my return. Of course, all it took was a quick call to customer service to have a replacement sent free of charge.

A great Tent for the price. Just right for a single occupant. @ 5'-10" there still seemed to be room by my head for some gear.Easy access and a full-cover fly for any extras.

Rated 5 out of 5 by tico1998 No problem with height here!
There was another reviewer that had issues with the tent because of his height. I am 6'4 and have absolutely no problems with this tent. I have taken it into the backcountry and used and abused it. Great quality tent that I highly recommend. As for the weight of the tent..... I am just fine with the weight.

This is a well made tent and has a lot of floor space as one person tents go. It has a good size vestibule and the side entrance is easier for getting in to the tent than an end entrance. However, the mesh wall sides of the tent hang quite close in so there is not enough head room when you sit up. It is also more weight than I like to carry when backpacking alone.

This tent should cost twice what it does and I would still buy it! The 30D sil/nylon fly is amazing. You can get lighter but you won't find better quality. Room for me. I'm 6' 240 lbs. Vestibule has enough space for pack, boots and cooking area. Llbean guarantees satisfaction...buy it...you won't take it back!

Very nice single person tent and a great value, but only for those under 6' or so. In the Q&A, LL Bean gives the "exact floor dimensions as "90? long, 36 ? wide at head/door end, tapering to a foot end width of 23?. I bought the tent based on these dimensions since I'm 6'2" and need every bit of length.
When mine arrived and I set it up, including staking out the corners, it fell short. The interior dimensions are closer to 85-86 inches long with the width ranges from about 32 tapering to 21 inches. I had to return mine because I didn't fit.
Had this really been 90" long from interior wall to interior wall, it would have been perfect. I liked the design and materials so much I ordered the FS-2 to see if I could make the length work by arranging my bag and pad diagonally.
If you fit, you won't find as nice a tent as this for under $300. At $169, its a no-brainer.
I'd recommend the use of the companion footprint, since lightweight tent materials can be more susceptible to damage than the older, heavier material. LL Bean sells it at a very fair price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by zoolady40 my first tent
I am readying for a kayak trip and bought the tent for the overnights. I have not used it outside but have had it up and down a few times in the house. I am 5'3' and find it very roomy. The light weight really appeals to me. It is easy and intuitive to assemble but I would have liked a few more details about how to put in stakes and use the included ties: Like where do they go. I also bought the microlight footprint.

Room for my 6'-2" bod and I like the full size door. Weight is right and the free standing frame is easy to assemble. Great overall design.
