Rated 3 out of 5 by MAhiker Good looking and comfortable but not well-designed
Pros - good looking, comfortable pack, improved water bladder holder (the velcro works much better than the previous versions weird slings)
Cons - new water bladder tube exit is ridiculously difficult to get your tube through, not sure what they were thinking here, less pockets than the previous version, side pockets are nice but they are not designed to be accessed while the pack is on. No pockets on the straps.
This pack is good for hiking if you don't need something well-designed for convenience. There are not enough pockets and pockets and access are designed for when you take the pack off. It's hard to reach anything with the pack on. Also, the sleeve to put your water bladder tube through is tiny. I spent 10 minutes trying to force my tube through it - gave up and just had it come right out of the unzipped pocket.
If you're looking for a pack that is well-designed for access and use while you're wearing it - get an Osprey.

Purchased the pack for day hikes and a 2 week National Geographic trip to Norway this Spring (May 2013). Perfect size for petite (5 ft) woman with enough room for jacket, small purse, maps, snacks, etc. Will use this on lots of trips and short hikes around Central Texas. Love it and can't wait for spring trip! :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by MikenHike Excellent pack for day hikes....
I recently took up hiking in retirement and was looking for something durable, lightweight, with some versatility, and that would not break the bank...this pack is all that and more!....One recommendation would be to add a Lycra pocket in the arm straps for knife, camera, etc...

Rated 5 out of 5 by EasyTrekker Good purchase
Bought the pack on a Tuesday, climbed Monadnock with it on a Wednesday - perfectly pleased with capacity and comfort for dayhiking. This pack appears to be well constructed, has two outside "bottle pockets" and a quick access open outside pocket. Waistband is wide, padded, helps distribute load. The green pack (which I bought) is a dark forest green, by the way.

I needed a day back for our trip to South America that was versatile enough to carry my laptop and toys for my daughter around town or to take for a hike. I love the size (i got a small) and the dark rich green. I haven't used it yet, but so far it fits a lot of things. I have a separate sleeve for my laptop bc it would not fit in the compartment for the water bladder.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Flutterbug Great for price
Great backpack for the price. Overall comfortable, weighs less than two pounds and pockets are well designed. We use these a couple times a week and even with the water bladder full there is plenty of room. I would like to see pockets for accessories on the belt and straps but otherwise love. Plan on using this for a backpacking trip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by fromthedeskof great backpack!
I purchased the forest green color, and it is NOT the same color as shown in the image. it is a vibrant dark green, very nice. just thought i would point that out.
the padding on the back is great! i am going to use this pack for school, so the padding will be nice while i am lugging around all my books and notes.
overall, love it. i hope to use this for weekend trips too!

UtahHikerGirl Just right!
Based on the description online of the Day Trekker 25 Pack as well as great help with a phone customer service rep from LL Bean we made the right choice with this pack. We are making 2-5 hr treks and this holds all the gear we need. I have attached carabineers to the areas provided and that also increases carrying potential. The pack sits comfortably on the hips with great support straps so it takes the weight off your back. I also like the solid side pockets to accomodate water bottles. They seem very durable. An excellent choice!

Rated 4 out of 5 Great pack
After viewing a lot of packs on different retail sites, I chose this pack as not too complicated, but flexible. I took this fresh out of the bag to a weekend at Mesa Verde. It was comfortable and fit very well, especially as we scrambled through brush on a limited access hike. I would give it more stars but I haven't fully used it yet.
