Rated 5 out of 5 by RetiredRedhead Perfect for a short person
Just returned from trip to Yellowstone and this pack was the perfect size and weight for day hiking. It balanced well and never hurt my back.
I really like the small zipped pocket on the top as I used it for my wallet and cell phone. Ipad mini fit well in the elastic compartment when traveling thru airports.
I plan to use this often in the future.

Rated 3 out of 5 Well Built but Not Enough Individual Pockets
This is the first day pack I have purchased by internet and not sure if I will do it again. There just isn't any substitute for hands on when purchasing packs, etc. The pack is constructed well but not enough individual pockets for all of the different things I carry into the field. Other reviews led me to believe there were enough to meet my needs but alas and alak. What would be beneficial is if the side water bottle holders actually had closures on them so that when I use a bladder I can store camera lenses or other small gear in them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Momofhim Comfortable, but hard to get at water bottles
I really liked this pack, but found it very difficult to get to my water bottles. I had to take the pack off to get to them or have my son grab one for me. I am looking into the bladder for it. As far as everything else, I like the pocket at the top for storing my phone, keys and wallet. The front shove pocket was great for my hiking book and maps. Overall, a good pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AFanofSummer Great day hiking pack
I tried the Lily 18 -- also a great pack -- but found the 1100 cu. inches too small for those days when you really need a fleece AND lunch AND water AND some rain gear. I hope to have the discipline to only fill 1100 cu. inches worth on most days, but need the extra space for those rainy, cold days when we want to go out anyway.
I'm 5'6" tall, 125 pounds and the SM is perfect. The upper strap adjusts nicely for a woman's figure.
I got the tourquoise/teal and it is a lovely color, not nearly as bright tourquoise as on my computer screen and a nice change from my usual dark green....

Rated 3 out of 5 by MAhiker Good looking and comfortable but not well-designed
Pros - good looking, comfortable pack, improved water bladder holder (the velcro works much better than the previous versions weird slings)
Cons - new water bladder tube exit is ridiculously difficult to get your tube through, not sure what they were thinking here, less pockets than the previous version, side pockets are nice but they are not designed to be accessed while the pack is on. No pockets on the straps.
This pack is good for hiking if you don't need something well-designed for convenience. There are not enough pockets and pockets and access are designed for when you take the pack off. It's hard to reach anything with the pack on. Also, the sleeve to put your water bladder tube through is tiny. I spent 10 minutes trying to force my tube through it - gave up and just had it come right out of the unzipped pocket.
If you're looking for a pack that is well-designed for access and use while you're wearing it - get an Osprey.

Purchased the pack for day hikes and a 2 week National Geographic trip to Norway this Spring (May 2013). Perfect size for petite (5 ft) woman with enough room for jacket, small purse, maps, snacks, etc. Will use this on lots of trips and short hikes around Central Texas. Love it and can't wait for spring trip! :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by MikenHike Excellent pack for day hikes....
I recently took up hiking in retirement and was looking for something durable, lightweight, with some versatility, and that would not break the bank...this pack is all that and more!....One recommendation would be to add a Lycra pocket in the arm straps for knife, camera, etc...

Rated 5 out of 5 by EasyTrekker Good purchase
Bought the pack on a Tuesday, climbed Monadnock with it on a Wednesday - perfectly pleased with capacity and comfort for dayhiking. This pack appears to be well constructed, has two outside "bottle pockets" and a quick access open outside pocket. Waistband is wide, padded, helps distribute load. The green pack (which I bought) is a dark forest green, by the way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by gypsymama Great Travel Pack
I needed a day back for our trip to South America that was versatile enough to carry my laptop and toys for my daughter around town or to take for a hike. I love the size (i got a small) and the dark rich green. I haven't used it yet, but so far it fits a lot of things. I have a separate sleeve for my laptop bc it would not fit in the compartment for the water bladder.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Flutterbug Great for price
Great backpack for the price. Overall comfortable, weighs less than two pounds and pockets are well designed. We use these a couple times a week and even with the water bladder full there is plenty of room. I would like to see pockets for accessories on the belt and straps but otherwise love. Plan on using this for a backpacking trip.
