Looking for bootfoot waders for the surf... Did not want the heavy rubber ones sold in the big box stores.
Boots were ordered on line and came in an incredible two days. Boots were well constructed. I was very satisfied with how the boot and wader legs were attached and sealed. I looked at a number of other brands and these beans were put together well.
The disappointment: although i read some reviews indicating that the boot portion was a bit narrower than expected, I decided to try a pair. My shoe size is a 10 med width and i usually wear two pairs of thin socks . I bought the size 11... Unfortunately, they still seemed very narrow.. Walked around in them a bit and decided to return them...uncomfortable... Unfortunate... The next size up was a twelve... But as it is.. The 11s were a bit too long for me at the toe... So the 12 was clearly out.
Good construction.. Just not my size. I own their hippers and surprisingly a perfect fit... I'll just have to wait for the Emerger3s to come out.
In the mean time I'm shopping for another boot foot wader. Luckily... Not yet an emergency buy.. My current chest waders still have life in them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by FlyFishSurf Good wader, snug boot, but no belt loops
I like these waders with the only negative being lack of belt loops. That may seem petty, but it is really an important SAFETY issue, because it is super easy to forget it and not have it when you need it. Also when you release the belt it falls in the dirt. Easily lost. I suggest LL Bean discard the free bag in favor of belt loops.
The boot (size 11) is quite snug, I have to use a thinner sock than normal. I would prefer to use a thicker sock.
I have owned several pairs of bootfoot waders, using them frequently for surf fishing. This is the most I have paid and I am curious to see how long they go before leaking. LL Bean has a great reputation, so I am cautiously optimistic they will last more than 1 - 1 1/2 years.

These are very nice waders. However, I fish the Outer banks of North Carolina, mostly Spring and fall when the temps are often in the 60's. With the insulated boot my feet stayed uncomfortable warm. so much so I had to return the waders. Sure wish they made these with an uninsulated boot.

Have not "water tested "yet but are as described and seem to be well made. Will further the review after first time in water.

Rated 4 out of 5 by PaDutchman Men's breathable emerger II waders, boot-foot
Haven't had the chance to test them, however I might point out something about the sizing. I take a 12 wide shoe and ordered such. Much too small. Returned for a size 13 which only comes in XXL. Boot fit like a 12 should fit. The XXL was fine since I am 6'2" and about 248 lbs. Several other customers seem to have had the same problem. Why ??

Very happy with this purchase. The boot bottom are sturdy and comfortable enough for the inevitable walk (always longer than expected) back to my car after wandering up or down stream. I always seem to find myself bushwhacking at some point and so far these waders are up to the task.

You can't get size 12 or 13 boots with a men's large wader. So I'm swimming in an extra large with a size 12 boot. But they do the job.
