Cheaply made. Not the quality you expect from Bean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by tailfin1 worked out great!
At this price point almost all waders on the market are imported. The great difference is the L.L. Bean guarantee that made my decision for me. Just returned from 3 days of hard stream fishing in the Smokey Mountains, the waders performed great with no problems. Just remember that the chest area size runs a little tight so order accordingly.

got these as an upgrade when I had to return my Kennebec waders that were leaking these are plain jane and a no frills or pockets like the Kennebec ones had no padded suspenders or wading belt don't understand how these are an upgrade just wish they would get the kennebecs back in stock so I can get rid of these!!! these are fine if you are going to use just a couple times a year for short periods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by UrNickname Very good, better than earlier version
A year or two ago I bought the Emerger 1 waders. Sure enough, this year when up to my waist in water, I discovered several leaks along the seams. I used a couple of tubes of Aquaseal to try to fix them; however, there were just too many.
I paid the difference when returning the old waders and got these and I am very happy.
Pros: fits better, great quality.
Cons: The belt clips cannot be removed from the belt which wold allow you to put things on the belt (bait container for example)
Great product w/ great return policy!

I purchased these waders in April, and didn't get a chance to use them until I went king salmon fishing at the Pere Marquette River the first week of October. Stepped in the river and felt the water seeping in. A leak in the seam on the right leg left me soaked. Needless to say - a major disappointment. I'm sure L.L. Bean will stand behind their product, but these wader let me down at the worst possible time. Fished with a wet leg/foot all weekend. It was uncomfortable but tolerable - sure glad the weather was warm (75 degrees) for October in Michigan. I guess I should have tested them before my trip (lesson learned)

Rated 5 out of 5 by IowaFlyer Comfortable and a good value!
I've owned these for a few years, but only worn them regularly this year. No leaks at all. They are comfortable and have held up well to busting the streamside brush. I would buy another pair as they are great for the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by UkkoNooa Pretty good quality so far, even better guarantee.
The Reviews here are the reason I purchased my first waders from LL Bean.
I was advised (by "expert" customer rep) to get the M. After trying them on and moving around a bit, I could tell I needed a Tall M or an L. The best test is to try them on, put one leg on a chair and then crouch down a bit. If it feels tight in the crotch, then I'd go a size up. Since there is no Tall M, I sent them back for an L which came lighting fast. I was at first put off by the huge "Made in China" print when you get to the carrying bag...Marketing might want to shrink that down a bit as its not always the first thing you want to see when opening a package (of course many great products are produced in China and I'm not judging the Culture or People but you get my point, I hope). After opening, the quality and workmanship felt solid in my hands. The L's were a bit wide but still fit nice and in cold weather they'll be perfect with extra layers on. I'm 6'1, 175 lbs.
I fished 1 day on the Mcloud in CA. Loved the feel, kept me dry and were very breathable, light and adjustable. They feel like quality waders. The belt is a bit annoying though. You want to use it, but then its separate from the waders so it becomes a bit of a nuisance to take on and off when relieving yourself. I'd love if it was connected to the waders.
At the end of the day I hung the waders up to dry and noticed that there was a small tear in the bottom of the wader. I was shocked since I had not even broken them in yet was not in any heavy brush while fishing...It made me worry about the quality. I was of course happy with my decision to go with LL Bean for their guarantee and they were amazing with getting me a replacement very quickly. This made me feel better but I will need to test these further to see if they rip easily again.
So far I'm happy with the purchase but happier with the guarantee...don't know if that's good or bad?
Looking forward to testing some more...

Rated 4 out of 5 by Lewy36 Great while it lasted
I waited for these waders to start to fail before writing a review. I bought them as a short term replacement for my leaky waders of "another" brand. Well that was about 3 years ago and I never ended up buying another different set of waders. Never had to. I put over 100 days a year, winter through summer, on them. You will not find a better breathable wader for price. Period. And gone are the days of sweaty legs after a nice day of spring or summer fishing. My only gripe is that the inseam tends to ride up so I bought a size smaller to avoid a daylong wedgie. They're starting to leak now but that is expected after 3 good years of fishing. They've served me well and I really feel that I received a quality product for the money spent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Boydnhere Great Breathable Waders
These are a great comfortable pair of waders. I had a pair of neoprene bootfoot waders for years. They worked, but were hot in the summer and not comfortable or easy to maneuver in. I decided to get some breathable waders and I will never go back. These were very comfortable and durable. The stockingfoot option with actual wading boots gave a much better footing as opposed to my old bootfoot waders on the stones in the river. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a breathable wader.

Rated 5 out of 5 by StayingDry Best waders ever
Thank goodness I got these waders. I have to do work in very slippery shingle. In conventional waders, I've fallen many times in dangerously cold water. Never again, using the Bean hobnail boots- and I stay absolutely DRY.
I can't thank Bean enough for these wonders.
