These are smaller than some others out there but there are more of them for the price. I think the more the better. All in all, I'd rather have my felts back. Darn didymo!

Brought these after buying the Gray Ghost wading boots. I was not sure if the rubber soles would be slippery, when I would be fly fishing. I fished on three difference rivers (wading each one) during the week and each had a difference bottom. I had no problems at all when in the water with the boots slipping. I fished early morning to late afternoon each day of the last week (4-14-13). I will keep them in case, I every need them.

Maxi Grip Wading Boot Stud Kit easy to install with simply a flat head screwdriver. Carbide tips will last longer than metal studs. 15 studs for each boot give you enough to cover all the pressure point when walking over large flat rocks, giving you the confidence to concentrate on what's important, the trout.

Attached these studs to the vibram soles of my wading boots because the vibram soles were very slippery on rocks. What a wonderful change - no more slipping. To make it easier to attach the studs, I turned the boots upside down and held them in a vice, then pre-drilled holes in the vibram soles in the pattern shown in the product's packet. Then I screwed the studs into the sole's pre-drilled holes with the supplied device. Make sure the diameter of the pre-drilled holes is much smaller than the stud threads.

These work flawlessly.
Of course they will not keep you from fetching your ankles in between boulders but, as far as traction is concerned they are marvelous. I find they reduce the twisting motion in my feet considerably; thereby reducing strain on my knees. 5 stars.
