perfect except for the sleeves. way too long. everyone says so. it's true. apparently no one has arms that long. I gave it a three because this is obviously a long standing mistake by the manufacture that EVERYONE complains about but LL Bean does nothiong to correct

The jacket did not fit very good. Its style was tacky. It was not very comfortable. My arm went down the sleeve inside the lining.

the twill blazer arrived in a timely fashion. it was as advertised. the sleeves were too long and had to be altered for an additional cost. material seems adequate; the lining is very adequate and more than I expepcted.

Excellent product. The service was exceptional! I had to return for a larger size and all was handled in a timely manner. Couldn't be better!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Beanerfella Nice garment
I like nearly everything about the coat -- style, color (fabulous), adaptability to different occasions, etc. -- except for the fit. It's fine everywhere (sleeves, shoulders, length) except around my middle. At 160 pounds and 5' 8", a 42 regular ought to button comfortably. I like it so much, though, that I'm wearing it open ... and I'm staying on my diet. A point of interest: it was the last of its kind on the rack, so a lot of customers must have liked what they saw just like I did.

Well made jacket. Everyone has commented that it looks nice and fits properly. Of course, fit will count on your own body shape, but for me, it worked great. This jacket was just what I needed, not too formal, but a quality garment with functional pockets I didn't expect!

Clemente I enjoyed it during it's short life...
First, has anyone really worn a blazer with the sleeves rolled up, or is it just me? I know I'm not Signature's demographic, but still...
I tried this blazer on (in blue) at the main store in Freeport last year. Since, in khaki, it was exactly what I'd been looking for except for the sleeve length (and since it was LL Bean), I ordered one and had the sleeves shortened locally.
I received it in March 2011 and wore it last spring, fall and winter. Living in Texas, it got little to no use over the summer, so it got no more than 9 months of wear. The top corners of the inside lining pockets started to pull apart recently, no big deal, I mended them. That's when I discovered that the OUTSIDE pockets had also started to pull apart (see picture).
Remember, I got 9 months of wear from this coat and used the outside pockets very little if at all.
I like L.L. Bean for their simple styling and good value. This blazer gets 4-minus stars for style (the sleeves have to be tailored) and 1 star for durability. Too bad - it dresses up a pair of jeans without seeming, well, dressy. Maybe I got a lemon?

The jacket fit perfectly in all ways except the sleeves, which were about 2 1/2" to 3" too long for a 38 regular.
I had to return the Item.

I enjoy it. For me the shoulders had a tendency to slip back, so the shirt collar and the suit collar don't line up. I think if you got the right size (I got a 40 and am a 42) it would fit well.

I love the concept of this jacket. It's hard to get any more casual in a blazer, and as a result it looks great with jeans.
My issue is with the fit. From other reviews I gathered that the arms were too long for most people, and since I usually wear a 44 long, I figured I'd take a shot on the regular 44 and the arms would be just right. Turns out I was correct, but the problem is that the body length is still like a regular 44, which just looks too short on me. I'm left wondering what size humans this jacket was designed for. If you're a regular size, the sleeves are probably going to be too long, and they're not going to be easy to have tailored due to the functional cuffs. And if you're like me and the sleeves fit, chances are it will be too short in the body.
Oh well, now I know. I won't buy another L.L. Bean Signature jacket unless they decide to start offering tall sizes in their blazers and suit jackets like practically every other clothing company. Still on the fence about whether to return this or get it tailored and just put up with the short length, but I'm leaning return.
