I had a handmade quilt that would not cover the whole bed. I put this beautiful coverlet on 1st & then put the quilt on at a diagonal. The coverlet shows a lot & matches one of the colors in the quilt. I would not have gotten to use the quilt if I did not have the lovely coverlet. They compliment each other beautifully! Now my guest bed is all set & so pretty! I was glad I read the reviews because it is plenty big.

I was looking for something that wouldn't slide off the bed at night, and since my husband wanted purple, I had to order online to get that color. So I chose Matelasse fabric because I read that it is never slick on the back.
I don't use a bed skirt, so I wanted something to that would hang to the floor (and STAY that length) and was planning to buy a king size for my queen bed if necessary. LLBean Matelasse bedding was the only kind I found that was inexpensive, and didn't have issues in the reviews (shrinking/fading in the wash, thin sheet-like material, out of stock in king size...)
I liked the paisly coverlet pattern WAY more than the square pattern in the bedspreads, so I measured my bed and decided that the king coverlet turned sideways would just fit my bed. (It is lower than many beds, so this might not work for everyone.)
I was concerned that the coverlet fabric might be lighter weight than the bedspread so I called customer service, expecting to hear that they had no way of knowing. I was surprised and pleased when the person answering the phone said, "I'll check," and a minute later gave me the exact weight of the fabric for each. To my surprise, the coverlet was a slightly HEAVIER fabric that the bedspread, so I ordered it.
I am very pleased with it. It does fit like I planned, the pattern works the same turned sideways, the material has great CLING to it and doesn't slide at all (it actually has a little stretch to it), the color is nice and will go well with the grey I plan to paint the walls, and it is a nice heavy weight. I haven't washed it yet, and expect it to be very heavy/bulky when wet, but from other reviews, I don't expect it to shrink/fade.

This coverlet is beautiful! The craftsmanship is amazing in the design of the coverlet and the product itself. This coverlet is not only a beautiful purple, which is hard to find, but made very well. The fullness is like having a bedspread, because it covers so well on both sides of the bed. It also washes well.
The only negative I have with this coverlet is that it is very heavy to dry in the dryer, when wet, and this is probably because we have a king size coverlet....lots to dry.
Thank you LLBean for giving us a product that is hard to find and such great quality.

This queen size coverlet seems to have everything going for it as the fabric is lovely and green color I chose is pale but nice. However, it is so very heavy that I had difficulty handling it. After washing it, I managed to get it into the dryer (it is a queen size), but even when dry, its bulk makes it difficult to fold or to get onto bed. As beautiful as it is, I have to return it because of its weight and bulkiness.

I simply love the color and pattern but the double size coverlet is too long either way you use it. I'd prefer if it hung like the photo shows but it is much longer almost to the floor and hides the bedskirt. I will live with it but not 100% happy. First time I've been disappointed in an LLB product. But that will not keep me from being a customer!!

This coverlet was exactly as described--heavy, lovely pattern, makes bed look elegant. Since I have a foot board and do not cover up the pillows, I turned it sideways so that it drapes further down on the sides.

I was very happy with the coverlet. It fit the bed beautifully. I was worried about it fully covering the bed to the dust ruffle. It is generous in size. It is also a perfect weight. I wondered if it would be appropriate for winter and summer. It is. It looks very luxurious. Good purchase!

I can't say enough good things about this product. I purchased it in white (what was I thinking with two kids and a dog?). It is very pretty and generously sized, so there is enough drape over the sides and end of the bed. It washes beautifully, and after numerous washings still looks snow white and spanking new.

We bought this for my mother-in-law and had it sent to her for Christmas. In fact, I had found it online and sent her a link and she loved it so we knew she'd at least be happy with it. She indeed loves it! And so says the rest of the family who were visiting her on Christmas day. We will see it when we visit her in February. Thanks, L.L. Bean for selling such quality and tradition!
