I bought the darker color. Flattering fit and very comfortable. I am 4'11'', 99lbs and the size 2 petite fit well except for the length-about 1.5 inches too long. I am still deciding if I will alter them or send them back. In general, I love the Signature line for pants, but they are always about 1-2 inches too long for me. They would have a rating of 5, but having to alter them after spending more on them than I typically spend on jeans lowers that to a 4.

I might return these, or relegate them to my pile of size 10 bottoms. I'm a solid, comfortable 12 in LL Bean and most other brands right now but could not get these 12's all the way on me, let alone be able to zip and button them. I would have followed the other reviews and ordered up if there were 14's available at the time, too. What I did like was the softness of the denim, the legs were really flattering, even for a light colored denim. These would be perfect summer jeans if they'd fit. . If you want to enjoy them out of the package, I cannot agree with the other reviews enough - Order up a size!

The Mariner Indigo Bell Bottoms looked phenomenal on the catalog model... Unfortunately, they do not look good on me. Boxy fit... tight waist band, and very loose in the hips and thighs. Not flattering on my 5'- 4" 100 lb frame. I ordered a size 2. They were too long, fit in the waistband, but too loose everywhere else. Oh! The waistband is too small for a belt...

The cut of this jean is great. Perfect light weight summer jean. Sadly, I had to send back due to sizing issues. I normally wear an 8 or 10. Last season, I purchased 4 pairs of jeans from LL Bean Signature in a size 10. They all fit fine. Since I was not familiar with this cut, I ordered this pair in a 10 and a 12. Both were way too small. I called customer service to ask if they had changed their sizing. They claim "No." My advice is to order up a size or two anyway.

I bought these because I was looking for chambray pants. While these are not chambray, I really like the drape of the fabric when you move. Since these are 50% linen, they have a lot of movement and are just a comfortable everyday summer jean. I even got a compliment from my mother-in-law. I am usually a size 4 to 6 in pants and I ordered the 6 based on the other reviews. I am glad I did because the 6 fit perfect and actually shrunk a little after I washed them. I also noted shrinking in the length with washing so I am glad I didn't get them hemmed. I am 5'7' 122 lbs, somewhat pear shaped and I have long legs.

The quality of the jeans is the same LLBean quality as always. The fit is snugger than I expected so I went up one size, however, the length was longer than usual for LLBean. I had to return the regular for the petite. The petite length is 30" which is the usual length for LLBean and normally the petite is way too short for me. Great fabric, just be aware that the length is a 33"inseam, rather than their usual 30"inseam.

I have been looking for bell bottom jeans that had just the right fit through the legs. They run looser through the legs. I am athletic so I like a looser leg. These fit the bill. I am 5'2" and 125# and purchased a 4 Misses. I tried petites and they were too short to wear with heels (fine with flats). I opted to get misses and have hemmed. That is my only complaint is that they are very long and would be perfect for someone taller. I loved them so much I purchased in both colors. They are nice lightweight, good quality denim. Perfect for spring and warmer weather.

I'm between an 8 and 10. Ordered two 10's and need every bit of the listed 33" inseam just to wear with flats. Can't even zip them up and the longest pair only measured 32" inseam. I would have tried a larger size except for the short length. Suggest ordering up one full size. Maybe even two.

I was so looking forward to getting these lovely mariner bells. Quality made, it is Bean afterall, but much too small for a tried and true 8, ran more like a 6. I have a feeling these currently B/O bell will have a lot of exchanges for next size up. Be forewarned!
