I've never liked shorts with an elastisized waist. These shorts are the exception! They don't bulge out, and fit just as if they had a banded waist. The material is soft so it hangs naturally. They're roomy so don't order a size up. I usually wear an 8 and a small was perfect. I find them to be very comfortable.

I absolutely love these shorts. I have three pair and am ordering more today. They are hard wearing, comfortable, breathable, and have a nice cut. I have severe Crohn's disease with some nasty long strictures and I cannot bear a waistband on my shorts. These shorts are cut very nicely and do not look like "waistband" shorts. They wash like a dream and do not hold on to gardening stains like some other cotton shorts I have owned. I too wish that they were made in BLACK, OR A DARK STONE COLOR. HOWEVER, please keep this style on the life list at LLBEan. Truly a five star product.

The review title kinda says it all. I bought these in the green, light blue, dark blue, and khaki. The drawstring waist is very comfortable, and the fabric is soft, light, and airy without being see through - this includes the light blue and khaki colors. The pockets are very practical but not intrusive on the cut.
In the interest of making us all informed consumers, these shorts are imported from China. More "Made in USA" please LL Bean.

short an comfy, they are not too hot for summer I feel so comfy roaming around the house in them. They are soft and comfy and they are short. I am 58 and not skinny but these look good and if you are in shape you will look great in these shorts.

The 6" length is perfect for my height, 5'2". When you're short, long shorts make you look all squatty! Line dried them and they came out perfect. No ironing needed.

These shorts are super comfy but they look like my husband's boxer shorts. So I never wear them in public. Best worn with large bag of chips vegging out in front of tv :)

These are excellent shorts- well made, fabric is strong, tightly woven, exceptionally comfortable and durable. I'd love to see them in a longer inseam, maybe another 2 or 3 inches, for those of us who are older and no longer feel comfortable showing that much leg. That is the only reason I did not give a 5 star rating. Everything else is superb, no complaints. They do run large, same as the sunwashed cotton pants and cropped pants, so you might want to order one size smaller than your usual.

Have bought these shorts for years and love them. Please consider carrying them year round for those of us in warm climates. Also, what happened to the other colors? Went to order red and chambray today and neither are shown. Finally, PLEASE make the shorts in black. My husband likes your shorts as well and every year asks "why don't they have them in black?"
