This is a reasonably good boot. I bought it for daily wear while I walk in the woods or on gravel roads. It took three or four days to break in. My only real issue with them is that they hurt my feet if I have to squat in them for very long like when I am planting in the garden. The toe piece does not give.
Basically, I would recommend them for light hiking but not for daily wear.

Thses boots are great. So lightweight and durable. They feel like nothing on your feet. I had to replace a pair of hiking boots that were several years old and I cannot believe how well they fit and how light weight they are. You could wear these instead of tennis shoes if traveling. Nice looking too. These boots also fit my narrow feet and I would order a half size up as recommended.

I have worn Columbia boots forever. After reading the reviews I just has to try these boots , and with LL Bean's return policy....I had nothing to lose. No way they are getting these back. Absolutely no break in period...which I was weary of, since the break in period is really what forms them to you feet. Times have changed and after hiking for days in them they remain an awesome fit. I have a wide toe box and narrow heel so finding anything to fit is very rare. These are sturdy, comfortable and MINE!

I wasn't sure whether ankle boots would bother me, but that's what my Doc recommended for my ankle problems. After reading lots of reviews I decided on these Keen Targhee II boots. The salesman Keaton assured me I could return them if I wasn't satisfied so that made up my mind. They are very comfortable, have good traction in spring mud and waterproof. Wearing them all day doesn't make my feet too hot either. I like these boots so much, I am thinking of buying another pair as a backup. It's always frustrating to find something you like, and it's unavailable when you need another.

I ordered a size larger and they were too short.
I returned them and reordered the next size up. These are a little long but, will do.
It seems like there should be size in between the two.

I am by no means a seasoned hiker or outdoorsy person, but I got these so I could be. This is my first pair of hiking boots since I was a kid. My mom has had a pair of Keen sneakers that have lasted her years and years. I read specs and reviews, and these were the ones. I thank the reviewer who said to order a size up because I am usually a 7-7.5, and the size 8 is very comfortable for me. Not too much toe room and absolutely no restrictive feel in both thin and heavy socks. The heel is a good height and I walked in these for 45 minutes with no sore feet muscles. I don't have wide feet, but I bet these would fit a wider foot. I haven't tested them in the water or on a trail, but I have used them in the snow. The only part that needs breaking in is the top ankle part. If I don't wear a heaver pair of socks that go up to my ankles, these give my ankles blisters. Otherwise these boots are perfect and I highly recommend them.

NJFarmwife Fits my wide feet!
I usually need a woman's wide, but I took a chance on these Keen boots knowing that they have a boxy toe, plus they have lacing down past the widest part of your foot. The combination makes for a great fit, even for women like me with wide flintstone feet. Very comfortable the first mile out of the box. The laces needed to stretch out a bit before I could get them tight enough around the top. Just enough height to give ankle support to an old softball injury. Second time out was all morning in very high, wet grass, and my feet stayed dry. I am hoping they are not too hot in the summer. Love the Keen look.

Bought these boots for a trip out west in June, but them on and just kept walking, in the mall, down town, in the field, Katy trail. No breaking in super fit and am looking forward to going out west in the best!!

I haven't had these very long, but I've been wearing them to walk the dog as I want to be sure they are comfortable for my Amazon River Tour in July. They are. I can't say more about long wear or tramping on wet areas yet.
